I also question just how close they are to the wolf when they're firing their very unreliable blunderbuss.. Even a Q1 blunderbuss does something like 11x8=88 damage on a body shot where all the pellets hit. On a headshot that result is magnified by like 4-8 times from the headshot multiplier... So close to 400~ damage for nailing a headshot at point blank. Which would mean two shots to kill a dire wolf...Which matches my own personal experience fighting direwolves.

But the blunderbuss' spread is insane. Beyond like, a block or two away at most, you're going to miss more than half of the pellets, and the ones that even hit are going to end up half ont he head and half on the body, which would dramatically increase the number of shots required.

The op says Point Blank, but... Two accurate headshots with a blunderbuss from actual point blank will do more HP than the direwolf even has on the default difficulty. Let alone 7, a stealth arrow and more.. Heck, the stealth arrow from a primitive bow to the head would do 19 damage x 4.5 times for stealth multiplier and then x4-8 times from headshot multiplier, resulting in very similar damage to a point blank blunderbuss shot where all pellets hit the head.. Which is around half of the HP of the direwolf.

Pretty much everything is a soft target Including all zombies. But certain zombies have armor plating on certain parts of their body- Lick the hardhat on a hardhat zombie, Or the military armor on military zombies......But if you shoot em in the unprotected face that armor doesn't matter too much. :D
