If you're level 1, sure. Once you put a single point into t-rex it's no longer much of an issue.

You also manage stamina boosts with the food you eat.

A lot of work went into balancing it through the early development in a19. Once you figure out the mechanics, you hardly run out of stamina ever.

To add to this, Tool and weapon choice matter now. Booking it to iron tools is not 100% the best way to play, now. It's worth running around with stone tools for a bit till you find some tool mods and get some skill points to reduce stamina costs. You can more or less swing a stone axe all day at first; But swinging an iron axe takes way more stamina. Once you get some stamina skills you can swing an iron axe for a long time, but steel will still weigh you down.

So consider your choices versus your consumptions and find a way forward.

......Also if you're swinging power attacks willy nilly that will dramatically increase your stamina consumption and also pauses your stamina regen for awhile, which you WILL feel.

This is something else that was bothering me in A18 too. How can a human being can cut down a tree easily with a stone axe but cannot do it with a proper steel axe without fighting for his life under a tree? :D
i mean, Sure, Let's make it so you can easily swing a steel axe. And also make it so the tree takes an accurate number of chops to knock down while we're at it. So you can be standing there for several ingame hours chopping away. :D

Go swing around a 1lb hammer for awhile, Then go swing around a 10lb hammer for awhile. Trust me, You will feel the difference. One takes a LOT more energy to control and manage than the other; And so would be the same between a tiny 1 handed stone axe compared to a large two handed axe.
