Jumping spiders, flying vultures, spitting cops, and exploding demolishers are intended to test your base design in different ways as the weeks go on. If you haven’t fought against all of these yet, they may challenge what you thought was a reliable horde base.
For those looking for a dog-like companion, I think you’re going to like the robotic drone once it’s released. It’s slated to be pretty awesome, as you can see in dev stream videos.
I’m not sure I’d consider Tier V quests harder than earlier tiers, but they’re definitely on a more epic scale. Finishing one before nightfall is a major accomplishment in my opinion.
There are plenty of ways to make the game harder beyond the obvious difficulty and horde size settings. For instance, since you find the Blood Moon fun, you could set it to occur more often, with or without added randomness to make its timing unpredictable.
