It makes guns a bit boring when the only sustainable gun is the Junk Turret. All other guns need constant running around looting buildings. Either for paper for shotguns or brass for other guns.

I don't think boring is the right word. If you had all the brass you needed to use whatever gun you wanted all the time, that would be boring. Having to ration your use of guns and mix up which ones you use based on fluctuating supplies, now that's interesting, at least for those that enjoy the survival side of the game.
