It's a steam limitation, Nothing that TFP can do about this. If you want to keep a copy of each different version, install Version A, copy the entire folder to another location, then install Version B- Version A will remain untouched as a copy, while the one managed by steam is now on Version B.

So you can easily have separate installs of A16, A17, A18, A19, or any combination of them or the ones preceeding them.

Edit: And to note, Strongly recommend making the one you let steam manage be the latest version- The old versions are unchanging, so it's perfectly suitable to copy them to a new location as no update will come for them.

Check out the unofficial mod launcher app. It lets you manage multiple copies of the game files, and I believe that includes different versions.

Yes this guys can do it it's only a matter if they will or not. More than likely they won't but i think if they let us keep other versions of the game the easiest way possible not my way or your way they may even sell more copies therefor them making more money.

Well, no, your logic doesn’t work out. A player only appreciates this proposed feature if they prefer an older alpha, which generally means they’ve played that earlier alpha, which generally means they bought the game long ago. Thankfully we don’t have to pay for new alphas. :buzzed:
