But there's some alternatives you can take to bridge the gap. You can use the Plate block to bridge it as it's fairly thin, Or an even thinner option is the Iron Sheet block. But it may not look visually appealing to you...still, worth giving it a look as it'll give you a smooth surface to walk on when entering the door.
Didn't placing and removing blocks like wood frames or hay bales help with that issue? They pulled the terrain up to level the area. Is that gone now?
Placing and removing blocks has never allowed terrain pieces to fit perfectly to blocks. You can use it to deform/flatten terrain, yes; And that still works. But only certain parts of the voxel will align with blocks for performance reasons (This is why when you use them to flatten terrain, when you hit a dip in the terrain you get a slanted edge leading down to the next layer of voxels)
Basically, Only the center of the voxel will snap to blocks- This then communicates with other nearby blocks to create a surface; So when you place a block on multiple contiguous voxel blocks, all the center spots are now at the same height and so the resultant surface created by the voxel blocks is flat. But only voxel blocks can cause other voxel blocks to fill out the edges as it takes two voxels to make a surface(This is why a placed voxel on a block just appears as a diamond-like piece of terrain.)
The RWG generator though has a lot more access to the functions of the voxels, and can tweak them to create seamless connections- But these tweaks are performance intensive (Yknow how long it takes to make a world? Probably like 80% of that time if not more is voxel terrain tweaks and leveling and smoothing and more. Yeah.) It's fine, or at least acceptable/tolerable when it takes ages for the game to make a world. But it's absolutely unacceptable for such time to be taken during gameplay. As I said in the first post, "noone wants their game to freeze for 1-3 seconds every time they place something, after all."
