No ned to even be in god mode- Just enable debug mode with the 'dm' command, and you can TP with a ctrl click(might be ctrl right click) But, still doesn't really help OP since OP doesn't care for that method.

Set up a dedi, add a server manager, and voila, now you have /home.

I severely doubt a feature like this will ever be a part of the Vanilla game. It completely goes against the nature of the game.

Some people may feel it goes against the nature of the game, but there are plenty who do not - why deny a simple addition to people who want to play that way? That's akin to making all servers PvP, and saying "It's the apocalypse, of course everyone wants to kill each other! Anything else would go against the nature of the end of the world".
Even Minecraft doesn't have /home and /sethome as vanilla functions of the game- There are reasons abound for why, and we could argue it till we're blue in the face about if it should or shouldn't be a vanilla feature.

But, simply put, The minecraft devs didn't want it because , And so it remains the case in minecraft that it is not a vanilla feature.

And the same is true here. TFP don't want home and sethome commands because they feel it defeats important aspects of the game- There's no risk to getting injured for example, because you can just /home and reach your medical stockpile instantly. There's no risk of running out of food or water and starving or dehydrating to death, because you can just /home to your base if you get close.

And so, It will likely never be a vanilla feature. It defeats too much of the game all on it's own for it to be vanilla; And there's no way to balance around it. If you want it, Mod it in/use a third party server tool.
