Sound occlusion is planned, but not implemented yet.

LCB is infinitely vertical. It only blocks sleeper spawns, and no others.

The boundary margins actually stop if you dig below them. If it's infinite, why don't the boundaries show this?

Because of limitations in the display box for performance, or something like that. It's been a bit since I asked about it so I can't quote specifics, but the impression I got was that making it display infinitely vertical tanked performance on some systems.
