[2020] Do zombies still magically respawn?

thank you, thats what i meant, i understand spawning over time but i remember them just spawning in rooms i cleared a minute before and i hated it :P might download it again and give it a shot, i loved this game

The zombies in buildings are grouped into sleeper volumes: roughly one sleeper volume per room. If you leave the volume before all the zombies are dead (and ideally, this doesn't happen until you're well outside the building), the volume resets and you'll have a new batch of zombies respawned and waiting if you return.
