Alternate take: Everyone else gets to sit comfy in their walled impenetrable compounds, free from worry... Rather than being the only human left on earth who doesn't work in retail, You're the ONLY human who stuck outside performing the role of gatherer/miner/etc supplying all the people with cushy safe jobs with material and attracting all the zombies to yourself and away from them. You're the official scape goat of what's left of humanity.
