It was removed due to performance restrictions. You still get basically the same stuff anyhow.

In fact, I'd be okay with reverting loot bags to the loot table used by old A16 corpse blocks. If that's what you actually mean, then I agree.

I feel one has to point out that the loot bags spawn rarely, while in the old days every corpse was lootable. So each loot bag would need to have better/more loot than a corpse, unless you were looking to change the overall balance as a separate design goal.
