*Sighs* The post was moved...To the modding subforum where it belongs. Not deleted.

You can see this by viewing your Post History via the buttons along the right hand side of the forum -->

Here is a link to your post for your convenience.

In the future, Please check your Post History before re-making posts like this. The notification you receive when a post is moved states "This item was moved or deleted."

Not sure why people always assume it was deleted when the first word is moved.
Lack of reading comprehension?

I think the problem is that Steam keeps the MOVED tag for a too short time IMO.

Most people (e.g.) post today and come back to check tomorrow... and the link is gone, so they only read the notification in the post history that says the post "has been deleted or moved".

IMO Steam should add a link to the new position where the post was moved directly in each user's post history. That would cut all these complains to zero.
That's on us. We can choose how long to leave the tag. None, 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week.
If I leave it for a day, people ♥♥♥♥♥ about the forum being full of moved links. So 90% of the time we set it to one hour.

If people just started using the forums correctly, it would be a non-issue.

Sorry to perpetuate a dead thread, but I want to add that the redirect duration is up to the moderator’s discretion. I for one try to tune it towards how long ago the OP last posted. I also treat some destination sub-forums, like the Meeting Room, as more ephemeral than others.

It would be nice to have something in between 1 hour and 1 day. It would be much nicer if the notification a user got was clearer all the time. And it would be much, much nicer if all users noticed we have sub-forums and posted accordingly, so they’d already know where their posts were and we didn’t have to move them.
