Depends on how much ram you have, really. If you're playing on like, 6 or 8gb, it might actually help- But if you're on 16+ it's not as beneficial. The most important thing in regards to ram is to A: Make sure your vRam doesn't overflow into normal ram; And B: To make sure your normal ram doesn't overflow into pagefile.
