Literally the opening quests make mention of the White River settlement, which, yknow, is a place of alive people that are in fact not zombies.

I'll grant that white river is not yet actually implemented into the game- But there IS mention that you are in fact not the only other living person in the world. (Also the traders, Also the people who bury the supplies you dig up for the trader, and the people who leave courier satchels for the fetch quests; Also the people that issue those note quests, Also the Duke of Navezgane mentioned in the piece of paper you start the game with, Also the people who buried the secret treasure you find via maps, crazy jake and his clan, and more, and more. . .)

Would people send airdrops to survivors trapped in a zombie infested town? maybe.

would they send some empty jars and a few ears of corn some 9mm ammo and a stone shovel? maybe if they were plentiful on fuel and just want to troll you

"haha you ran all that way for some crap items. jokes on you , sucker"
ye no world doesnt survive nukes cuz if someone nukes someone that country is gonna nuke back so if someone nukes anyone all worlds is probably destroyed
The world of 7DTD is the end result, it's what follows a literal world war 3 where all the countries went to war, nuclear strikes were sent everywhere; Major population centers are simply Gone, What remains are primarily backwater areas in the middle of nowhere, like Navezgane county- There's a reason Navezgane is ringed in by radiation, and why there's a sprawling wasteland full of mines, and why there's military bunkers and encampments all over. Zombies are a mutation or a mutated virus, not just supernatural shenanigans.

There is lore. There's not much mention of exactly how far into the future of this post-WW3 world we are; But we are post WW3 in 7DTD.

ye thats what i m talking about cuz it the world doesnt rly fit into the *result of ww3* cuz if it rly would be like that it would be more like mad max so like no place would survive like 7dtd world did
Mad max is not the only possible end result of a post WW3 scenario. There's SO many possible eventualities. Maybe every country launches nukes- But what if 90% of them get shot down and don't get to detonate? What if all of them get to detonate? What if they all land and are duds? Heck, WW3 can technically occur even without everything going total-nuclear.

Did you know that Star Trek takes place post WW3 as well? 'Cause it does. :) The vulcans made contact with humanity like ten, twenty years after world war 3 which in Star Trek lore took place in....like, 2020 to 2050, something like that. Long and bloody. Madmax is one end of the spectrum, Star trek is another, and 7DTD is another.
