Probably! A screenshot or two would be helpful here, including where you intend to be. In general, they’re going to take the path of least resistance, so you’ll want to shore up everything other than your intended entrance to the point that it’s the easiest path for them to take.

Do pressure plates count as the "resistance" you talk about? I have a clear path to my bunker, like a tunnel with pressure plates and dart traps. The only thing between me and that tunnel are iron bars, still zombies target upgraded concrete walls around this tunnel... Also inside the tunnel they tend to target the walls instead of me

Nope. Zombies don't care if they step into a trap. They only consider if a block is in their way or not, at least until the point that they can find no path. Then they'll 'rage' and attack anything nearby, but that shouldn't happen with a clear path to you. One possibility would be if your tunnel is so long, that for them to go to the entrance they'd have to go outside the range of paths they can compute.
