They can, but why would they? Zombies have no sense of self-preservation, so make the ditch shallow enough to walk through and they should wade right into it. We can argue about zombie physiology but I’d think acid melting away their flesh would be similarly effective to destroying the same with fire, bullets, sharp things, etc.

Anyway, the idea sounds interesting but I would want to insure it’s balanced. The idea that it “does not break” is a deal breaker for me, because even if the acid is expensive, you could make a moat all the way around your base and potentially nullify the threat from the land-based zombies that form the majority of every horde. Pretty much anything that damages zombies needs to also be ‘consumable’ - to wear out over time without maintaining or replenishing it. Otherwise you’ve effectively turned on God mode, and that’s not something to have as part of the regular game mode.
