#2 is exacerbated by #1. The reason you cant just spam blocks isnt because it's not realistic, But because this game, unlike minecraft and other building games, has structural integrity.
If you're going a mile a minute in minecraft you're inevitably going to misplace blocks, you're going to go further than you meant to, you're going to place blocks out of order, And the result of that is- You remove a few blocks and fill in the gaps you miss.
In 7DTD, If you go a mile a minute,
You're going to misplace blocks,
you're going to go further than you meant to,
and/or
you're going to place blocks out of order
And the result of that is your entire structure collapsing because
you placed too many mis-placed blocks and over-whelmed your support
you placed too many blocks by going too far and overwhelmed your support
you skipped a block that was essential to the integrity of your build
And there went your last 3 hours of building.
Like, Believe me, I appreciate that it feels kinda slow and clunky- But the alternative is self-nuking your construction project and wasting hours of work. Being forced to go slow lets you aim and make sure you misplace far less blocks, and gives you time to process and think about the integrity of what you're building so that you avoid those catastrophic failures more often than not.
