I set the computer to blow up as a trap before I went and set the “avenge player” afterwards it gave me the guts to confirm my kill. The last guy ended up getting blown up. Now there is an sword icon but no way for new to confirm the kill. What do I do?

I'm sorry to hear that you were unable to confirm the kill. Did restarting the game remove the avenge player quest from your quest log or is it still stuck there?
Did you also happen to capture a video of the issue?

How long do you spend holding the button prompt down, or do you not receive a button prompt at all?
If you fast travel to your longship or a viewpoint, then return, does the Avenge quest still not allow you to interact?
