is it possible to somehow make the water, pools, waterfalls less glowy, shiny, not to be this visible from miles away?
playing on max setting, chaging details to min doesnt solve anything .. reflection is not working, water details not working .. textures not working ..
its super ugly and breaks the immersion

Just as you stated, it could indeed be either time of the day, weather or even location that may be key factors in this. Screenshots you've provided there do show contrast however, so I appreciate your detailed input on the matter and the information you have provided us with will indeed be helpful.
