I was playing the game fine, went on holiday and got back on the 3rd of Feb 2022, found an update pending so I did the update. Now I don't have sound in game anymore. I'm playing on English so the change to English trick won't work. I've verified the game files. Sound is on, works with other games fine. I have no sound all the way from the intro to in game. Please help.

Hello @nova_svn sorry to hear of your sound issues after the last update.

Can you let me know what kind of audio setup you currently use on PC, do you use a particular kind of speaker, or a particular kind of headphone, just so we know what device you use for audio?

After a Windows or game update, Windows can sometimes change the preferred audio device your PC uses for the game, in the Windows settings. Would you be able to try all of the following steps which contain the most common fixes for missing audio, after verifying your game files as you have done so already >

1. Some of our games that support 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound, may be configured incorrectly on your PC sometimes, so certain audio channels such as voice lines or sound effects may not be heard in your game. To check if this may be the issue >

-Right-click on the Sound icon in the taskbar and select 'Sounds'
-Choose your current audio device being used
-Navigate to Properties and click on Advanced
-Uncheck the 'Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device' box
-Experiment with selecting lower or higher bitrate (use 24bit/44100 Hz or 24bit/192000Hz if the option is given on your audio device
-Test the sound of the game again, after relaunching the game

2. If using any other sound-controlling software such as Discord or any other VoIP programs, please disable this through Task Manager and relaunch the game, to check if these programs were causing any interference with your audio.

3. Test the game in borderless window mode, windows mode, and full screen to see if all display options have no sound. Sometimes running a game in borderless window mode specifically, will fix this issue.

4. Next, check your Advanced Windows Sound Options for the game, in case an update has changed some of the settings you were using >
-Right-click on the Volume/Sound speaker icon in your Taskbar and select Open Sound Settings.
-Scroll down until you see the Advanced Sound Options and select App Volume Device Preferences.
-You will see an 'Output and Input' option, make sure you have your game open, and it should appear in the list of applications here.
-From here you can assign which device the listed applications/game will output their audio to. Under the dropdown column for the game, select which Audio Device you'd like to output the game's audio to whether that be a headset or a speaker

5.Finally try running through Windows own audio trouble-shooting guide for the most common fixes to sound issues on PC and in-game. This guide also explains how to use Windows own built-in audio troubleshooter > https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/fix-sound-problems-in-windows-10-73025246-b61c-40fb-671a-2535c7cd56c8

That's brilliant @nova_svn thanks for getting back to me, I am over the moon that one of these steps was able to resolve the sound issue for you.

I have seen this effect a few of our titles in the past, as if there is some reset that happens in the Windows sound settings, often after a game update or Windows update. If anything changes, do let us know in this thread 👍
