I have now noticed a new bug in several quests where you need to fulfil a certain condition for a certain period of time, the so-called "sustain quests". This possibly affects them all, even the ones in the normal sandbox game, but I've seen this happen at least in the Eden Burning and A Clash of Couriers. In the latter there are many of these. Here I use as an example the quest to beat the Blazing Fast Mail Inc. (the Pyrphorians). The condition is to keep the residents' happiness below 10 for 10 minutes. Here's what happens in the video:

  1. I start the 10:00 countdown by destroying two chapels, to nudge the happiness below the limit (it goes from 11 down to 5). The clock start counting down, as expected.
  2. At 08:56 I rebuild some chapels, which again raise the happiness to 11, and the countdown clock stops. Still looks normal.
  3. I let the game then run for about three game minutes.
  4. I again destroy the chapels, to get the happiness back below 10. What should happen: the countdown would continue from 08:56, counting down. What actually happens: the countdown timer jumps to 05:31.

The effect of this that I could exploit this bug to just fulfil the condition for a second, then get things back to normal, wait for the required 10 minutes and then just re-enable the conditions back for another second, without actually needing to suffer the bad conditions.

Like said, I can reproduce this same bug in all the quests I've so far occurred that have the same mechanism that I need to fulfil a certain condition for a certain amount of time.

To clarify, I don't mean the quest timer itself. I specifically mean the condition timer:

Hey there Synchronos. I'm working on getting this reported up!

Can you let me know if you're playing with any mods, and if so list those out for me?

Also, if you have the time, please make a copy of a save file from when you have one of these conditionals active so that we can test it in the exact context you're experiencing the bug.

Thank you for your video and screenshot already!
