Heya @hiyo65 , welcome to the forum! Thanks for sharing your feedback about the snow effect over the festive period. Thanks also to @Asterix201252 for sharing your thoughts 
I haven't been able to check myself, but I'm presuming the snow effect has now stopped. I've gone ahead and reported your feedback about wanting to be able to switch it off internally, so we'll keep your thoughts about this in mind for next year.
