I just bought the complete edition on Steam, and while the game loads perfectly, when attempting to start a new game, the moment the intro cinematic ends, the game crashes to desktop, so I haven't been able to play the game. I've tried a few fixes already, the issue persists on DX11 and DX12. The crash logs are slightly different from starting a new game, and when trying to load the file after that crash (they're slightly different, but both play the intro cinematic and crash at the same point). Notably, the first crash log says:

Failed to open file /Documents/Anno 1800/shaders/precompiled/1322b0adf14ac311be950389d1a13dc9_e1c0cff2adaf8a9c7b202f290dab22c0_1636f943c9c242cff36d410ad54bc9bd.fxo failed with error 2: The system cannot find the file specified.

So I tried deleting the precompiled shaders in that file, and the DirectX and NVIDIA shaders, neither of which solved the issue. I have an RTX 3080ti with the latest drivers, clean installed.

The second lists of a ton of a files that were unable to be found, failing with error 3, for example:

I verified the integrity of the game files, and they were fine, so not sure why this would be happening.

I wasn't allowed to attach the crash logs for some reason, so they aren't included.

We can't directly use the crash logs here on the forum, but I'm confident we'll be able to solve this with some further local troubleshooting. You've already tried updating your graphics drivers and verifying the game files, which is great - that's the two most important steps. Please see the rest of our troubleshooting guide. In particular from the guide, please make sure you are running the game with administrator rights, you've got your Windows install fully updated, and you've (at least temporarily, for testing) deactivated all background programs. 

If the crash still happens, please also see the system files support article. The two files it describes can be used by our support specialists to check some system details, and check for any errors Windows itself has logged, which often allows us to give more specific and targeted troubleshooting recommendations.
