Recently I installed and played Anno 1800.
However my Windows machine was updated for windows and after that the game stopped working.
It boots up, and shows a black screen with loading logo. Then the game closes and goes back to windows with no error message or anything.
What could this problem be?

First, can you let me know what Ubisoft account you use to play Anno 1800? I'd like to investigate to make sure there are no issues with the copy of the game that is active on your account.
Also, please make sure you follow our PC troubleshooting guide, and let me know if you continue running into issues afterwards.
Finally, if you have any mods for the game installed, please list them out for me. You should try deactivating or uninstalling all of them to see if the game will boot up normally without the mods installed as well.
