Hi,
I've managed to play the game for a few hours and have encountered several significent issues and would be grateful if anyone new how to resolve them.
Firstly the biggest - Anno 1800 cuses my entire PC to freeze. Not the game but the entire PC. No mouse movement, no ctrl-alt-delete. Nothing but a grinding noise out of the speakers. At first this happened every single time at initial launch without fail and I never made it to the title screen. I had to hold the power butting to get it to turn off. I put a post on reddit looking for help and I have since un/re-instlled the game after verifying the files showed no issues and DLing the latet drivers (though they should hav been up to date already). This worked to a degree in so far as I could launch and play the game (though it still happened later)
Second issue was when I loaded an early autosave from my first play through (I only played for a half hour after finally getting in because by that time it was quite late) The UI would randomly disappear. Specifically the top of the screen where it shows your island name and buidling materials. If I space bar to the world map and back it would come back but if I scroll to anothe island or even to the ocean away from one it would disappear again. I played for a few more hours and got as far as sending an expedition to the new world. When I loaded the new world map from the expedition complete prompt it wouldn't display the UI at all. Even the hot key didn't work. I could sail that ship to an island and the blueprint for a dock would appear but still no UI.
I decided to quit and reload to try again and hope for the best but the game eventually froze my PC again and it happened a couple more times when I relaunched. When I finally got back in I came across the last issue
Third issue is I loaded my latest autosave and it was only from an hour into the game (literally 59 mins 59 seconds) and there were none after it. Several before every few minutes but none after. I tried manually saving and it was grayed out and said "loading session, can save when loaded" to spite me clearly being in the game
I really want to be able to play this game that I bought on the Uplay store and have a machine powerful enough to run but this is really souring my experience with the game as I have now spent more time trying to fix it than actually enjoying it. The only other time my pc has frozen mid game was a few times with Assassins Creed Odyssey (another uplay game which makes me wonder if it's something with the platform that's causing that specific issue)
