Hi,

I have a problem starting Anno 1800 game from Uplay. Everything was ok till latest Windows OS update from Microsoft to the latest version 2004. I know it might not be something of your concern, but it seems, the game uses some libraries from Media Feature Pack for "Windows 10 Pro N".

So when I try to start the game, I get this error:

---------------------------
Anno1800.exe - System Error
---------------------------
The code execution cannot proceed because mfreadwrite.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

My PC setup:
AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Six-Core Processor 3.20GHz
RAM: 32GB
OS: Windows 10 Pro N 64-bit
Adapter Description: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

I googled a bit. Found some solutions, but the official: to install media feature pack didn't work for me, because there is no such option.

As I stated before it might not be your concern, but for me as an end user the whole situation is a bit silly, because I have latest official version of Operating system and the latest game patch (I also tried to reinstall the game) and can't play this awesome game.

Thank you for any advice or directing me towards the solution.

Hey! I don't believe this is something that can be changed on our end, as the game is searching for files that are necessary to play the game.

My understanding was that players would be able to manually download the Media Feature Pack from the Microsoft website; does this not work for you?
