[2021] Audio is screechy and game even in menu runnning very slow - unplayable levels

So this happeend after I installed the newest NVIDIA driver yesterday evening. Anybody else experiencing that Anno 1800 is now unplayable?
My spec is very good so I shouldnt have any issue:
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6800K CPU @ 3.40GHz, 3401 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s)
BaseBoard Manufacturer ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC.
BaseBoard Product X99-A II
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 32.0 GB
Adapter Description NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER
