Since the last update you can no longer see the trade routes connection from island to island in the route planner in the right overview, if you hover over the entries in the left list.

I understand that the Trade Route menu doesn't show routes when hovering about them. After looking into this, I can see that this issue was under investigation and is now planned to be fixed for the next game update
