I have re-installed the game, do not use mods, and I have the challenge where I cannot select an NPC trader to create a trade route.
If I claim a new island, I cannot set up a trade route until I save and restart the session.

Sorry to hear that you encounter this issue.
There is a workaround by manually pausing and unpausing the trade routes and our team is currently looking into that issue. Please keep an eye on our forums and the Anno Union for all future updates and patchnotes
