I've just played 30-40 hours with the Trial version offered until 2019.12.18.
Saved the game.
Today I've bought the Deluxe edition advertised at Uplay.

  1. Why do I have to re-download and re-install the WHOLE 30 Gigabyte, if most of those files are probably there on my HDD?
  2. How do I keep playing with that SAVED game I've started at the Trial ?
(When I start the Trial > it asks for a CODE.)

...

Right now in this minute while I was typing this msg here >>
Uplay just closed itself at ca. 50% of the download.
I've restarted it again >> and it said:
- the program has quit because no activity.

Since when is downloading + installing = "no activity" ?
Now I have to re-login... but it does not remember my credentials!
(YES, "remember me" was checked before, and I've just did the whole hassle of the "two-way security authentication process... )

I start to feel it was a big mistake to buy a game from this company.

...

At least the download continues from 18/30Gb.

Hey Szaki,

sorry to hear you had issue with downloading Anno 1800 after your purchase.

The client for the trial version and the final game are different (the trial version, for example, is limited in scope) - which requires the main game to be downloaded separately.
For the same reason, savegames from the trial version are not compatible with the main game.

Hello,

Since the trial period has ended on December 18th, you can no longer play the trial version.
