Me and a friend are trying to play multiplayer. He will either crash to desktop with directx issue in the lobby, or about 5-10 minutes in game. We have tried all troubleshooting we could find to no avail.

he has:

increased virtual memory to max

switched between DX11 AND 12 many times in game.

changed DX11 and 12 in engine.ini between the two many times.

reinstalled Anno 1800 twice.

updated drivers to latest and rolled back many times.

Turned steam to offline mode

Closed all background applications

Has not got a windows screen saver enabled.

My game seems to be perfectly fine, but my buddy has exactly the same configurations and fixes as me yet, gets this error. I contacted via live chat a while ago and the support employee told me its a possiblr account issue (what???? It's a microsoft API that allows games to access hardware on Windows PC's) I hope the forums shed more support than just "get your friend to get in contact it may be an account issue". We have been trying to fix this to play mp for days. I hope you can understand my frustration.

I personally don't believe this is account based, however it is very difficult for us to be able to provide more tailored support without speaking with your friend directly.

If you could please have them create a ticket on our Support Site and attach their DxDiag and MSinfo system files, we will be more than happy to take a further look.
