Hi,

AMD 3700X, ASUS TUF OC 3080, 32gb ram 3600mhz. Win 10 pro. Dual 2k monitors but gaming at 144hz on single monitor. Bit defender.

I've been playing Watch Dogs 1 on and off for months. I also played Anno 1800 on and off since it's release.

I had Uplay which changed to Connect, had some minor issue like resizing not working, nothing big.

I started playing Watch Dogs 2 a few days ago was running 60fps+ until yesterday eve (29/11/2020). I noticed my FPS fluctuating between 14 and 40fps and everything was somewhat stuttery. I messed about with the settings, even turned the preset to low, tried variations of vsync, FOV, but I still wasn't getting much above 40fps.

I tried to play WD Legion and the whole PC froze, I had to do a hard reset. WD2 also began to freeze forcing a hard reset to get my PC back in working order.

I've tried re installing Ubisoft connect and I have subsequently re-installed WD 2 from fresh. I've not reinstalled WD Legion as of yet though I've reverted back to a previous Nvidia driver, still no luck with the frames and I'm still getting hard locks.

I've tested other games in Steam and Epic and have not had the same frame drops or PC freezes as I'm having with Anno 1800, Watch Dogs 2 and WD Legion.

I also installed Anno 1800 fresh, left the settings alone (DX 11) and within seconds the frames dropped to teens and the PC froze.

Has anybody experience anything like this?

Hey there S-Crim2142,

Sorry to hear you're having issues.

Have you attempted any troubleshooting since these issues began?

Please give the steps in our guide a try.

I'd also suggest looking into checking if any programs can be whitelisted by bit defender as suggested to ensure this isn't causing issues

Let us know if there's anything else we can help with!
