Hello,
I am playing Anno 1800 using GeForce Now. Last night i spent 4+ hours in-game, saving several times. After I clicked Save and Exit game, Anno shut down and I got some message about cloud saves, something like "unable to sync cloud saves". I got a bit worried so this morning I logged in again only to see that none of my progress from yesterday has been saved. Can I do anything to recover it? Thank you.

Hey!

I'm very sorry to read this happened to you, we will do our best to help.

It's difficult to say for sure whether the save has been lost. We can try manually searching for it in the folder structure, if GeForce Now allows you to do that.

Please paste this into File Explorer's address bar: %userprofile%\Documents\Anno 1800\accounts

There will then be an alphanumeric folder, then the name of your avatar.

Let me know what you see, or perhaps provide an image. We will then do our best to offer advice

Note - I have seen reports of this issue when playing the game through GeForce Now. As you are streaming a game that uses cloud saves, it's possible you will continue to run into this issue.

Unfortunately for me, I have no other way of running the game, so I have to deal with all the issues that come with GFN. During my last session when I passed 25 000 population I had the game crash on me every 30 minutes with runtime errors, out of memory errors and such, no save game issues though.
No trouble at all, thank you for your reply.

I completely understand the value in GeForce Now and it's a brilliant service; the only complication is that we never know for sure how a game and it's required services will run.

If GeForce Now does not allow access to File Explorer, I'm very sorry to say we don't have a way of recovering the saved data for you.
