A few weeks ago u/UNTDrew talked about making a post about how luck works. I'd be very interested in hearing that. If you're reading this u/UNTDrew, here is what I'd like to know.

It doesn't really matter if we get actual formulas, hard percentages (0.6% drop rate with 0% luck, 0.96% drop rate with 90%+ luck) or relative increases (going from 0% to 90% luck increase your drops by 55%). The formulas and values would be nice, but we understand if you won't reveal those. What we'd really like to know how much does luck actually do in terms of getting more legendary drops. It's the relative increase that is truly important for us to decide how much we prioritize luck on our items.

So I'm going to assume that you're not going to reveal the full formulas or hard numbers.

  • How much does your legendary drop rate increase going from 0% to 90% luck?

  • Is the increase the same for different enemies and difficulties? And if not, can you give some examples (0% vs 90% luck for basic mobs GM2 and GM3, apex creatures GM2 and GM3)?

  • How much does luck do for chests? Are chests in strongholds, freeplay and world event rewards affected the same?

  • Going from 0% to 90% luck, is the drop rate increase linear, exponential or logistic? If not linear, can you shed some light on the drop rates for intermediate luck values, maybe a few examples?

  • Does luck just flat increase the number of drops, or does it raise the quality, or a combination?

Sorry for the late response. I was out last week.

I'll see if I can get some definitive answers on this. I think it was Brenon who made some comments about it in the past, but I'm not 100% sure.

So.... now you kinda know why I didn't answer this. Luck is basically going away with the Cataclysm update (as Ben mentioned on stream yesterday).

Sorry for the late response, btw.
