[2019] Random Ban

Was playing through the campaign with my buddy (who had already done it) and we hit a loading screen right before a cutscene. Not the normal one, just a black screen with the triangle thingys doing their animation. After a while of waiting, he decides to restart his game in an attempt to fix it. The moment he leaves, my cutscene starts. He gets back on and can't log in. Then he gets a message saying he's been banned. Has anybody else encountered this issue? And does anyone have any advice on how to resolve it quickly? (we need to kill those titans before the event ends)

Tldr: friend restarted game cuz of endless loading screen. Gets banned upon game restart
