Honestly, because the Apex community IS incredibly positive. There's always going to be some toxicity, but our interactions with the community are often quite wonderful. Did you see that artbook yesterday??

Maybe? The Apex universe keeps getting bigger and we love that there's now opportunities to bring in Legends from outside Syndicate Space who might have different points of view.

We only get so much time with our voice actors each season, so we unfortunately can't do all the character combinations we want each season. But we love Wraith and Mirage's friendship and there will be stuff coming eventually and soon(ish).

It happens a couple weeks before Season 8 begins.

The book has only been out for a few days and you're already looking for more?? Jkjk. We're not closed off to the idea of other printed content in the future, but we're focusing a lot right now on bringing lore content to the game.

The backbone of a legend's backstory is usually developed over a few months once their kit is in a good place and their fantasy is established. However, we continue to develop a legend's story as we bring the character to polish and ideas come up--from writers and other devs. Also, as seasons pass and new stories and characters get introduced, we continue to develop our legend's stories as we see exciting opportunities to involve and develop them.

I love the lore behind Apex and how this has been introduced into the game through custom ping/location interactions between the legends. Are there plans to add to these in future seasons? It would be great to see more custom interactions between the OG legends (like Mirage & Wraith!) as it seems (understandably) the newer legends have been the focus for a lot of these since they were introduced.

As for 'out-of-game' lore, are there any plans to expand on the Apex Universe? The Season trailers and SFtO are so wonderfully done, it would be a dream to see a Netflix series someday! Or perhaps more books like Pathfinder's Quest?

Mostly I just want to say thank you to everyone involved and huge congrats on 2 years and this exciting new season. I can't imagine how hard it must be working on a live service game in a global lockdown but you guys have really knocked it out of the park. Here's to many more years of Apex!

We still give a lot of love to our OG characters in our custom dialogue interactions each season. New Legends tend to get a bit more so we can help establish relationships with them and our other Legends. And thank you!

We have long term lore ideas for our Legends that may take a year or so to come to fruition and we also come up with lore ideas at the last minute. The writing team is constantly brainstorming and looking for opportunities to develop our legends and worlds, and just looking for the right times to bring those details in.

How do you choose which accents/languages a future character will have? Does that start with their kit, VAs you want to hire, staff backgrounds, etc.?

Thanks! We love hearing Fuse talk too. :) With our Legends, we often let the fantasy of their kits speak to us about who the character is and then we continue to shape them from there, including their background. Once we have a solid character in place, we do casting calls and only hire VAs of that background and engage them to offer ideas during recordings sessions. We also often hire an authenticity editor to do a pass through our written dialogue before recording.
