Hey guys, since i downloaded an update for apex today it seems like my sound ingame is bugged. I do NOT hear anything behind me, and exactly in front of me. i have to turn about 1-15 degree to left or right to hear sound in front of me, which then sounds like its comes from a 90 degree angle left or right.

In game audio setting only tell me they are using the windows setting "7.1 surround" which isnt correct because everything in windows is set to stereo and I also only use stereo headphones.

I also checked my sound driver settings and everything there is also set to stereo.

Anything elese i could to ?

/edit:

Settings file says speaker_num '2' which would also be correct but the game still tries to give me surround sound.

/edit 2: Activating "windows sonic for headphones" seems to solve the problem but the game sounds like crap then.... not really a good solution.

/edit 3: Changing windows speaker settings to 7.1 and deactivating all speakers i dont have solved the problem.... Still bad solution. why does the game think im using 7.1 surround sound ?

I'm passing this thread to the audio team as this has been a really big issue. But the info here is really great! Thank you all for your due diligence on trying to fix it on your end and reporting your finding. This really does help to nail this issue down.

Also for anyone else who sees this, please let us know as all the additional steps you've taken on your end to fix this as this is our next big issue to tackle. Also the situation in game you were in that it occurred (ie. Reviving someone, initial drop, characters in party, and console ( PS4 vs PS4 pro, etc)). Every single piece of info, no matter how small does go a long way. Videos also help.

Cheers and thanks you!
