My public lobbies consist only of predators and my teammates are always horrible. The update clearly made things worse. The battle royale mode is unplayable without a full premade squad. It's impossible for matchmaking to be this bad by accident, so I assume it's intentional, but I can't figure out why they think this is a good idea.

What region/data center are you playing on?
What time do you play (Peak vs Off-Peak) ?
What is your highest rank? (Give me an idea of how good you are, do you know how to super glide/ tap strafe?)
What queue are you playing? Ranked and Pubs have different matchmaking tunings.

I am assuming you are a high skill player playing in Ranked. We are only testing changes on a few selected data centers, and the matchmaking changes (under test) are most obvious at the lower end of the skill distributions, which might explain why you are not noticing the matchmaking updates (under test) .

Apex Legends does NOT use EOMM.

Just out of curiosity, how come you equate being good to knowing how to super glide or tap strafe? I don’t know any of the movement mechanics but have played with a bunch of people who you see doing all kinds of movement tech that I end up doing much better than.

If you can aim, shoot, move, and do aerial acrobatics at the same time, chances are you are good at the game.

I'm extremely good at the game. But I actually love playing against top players. My only complaint is that my teammates are so bad, no-fill is far easier. Otherwise, my teammates bait me or die and drop a box of loot for the enemies and let them know we aren't a full squad anymore.

Why am I getting two level 40s who don't break off of the drop and steal all the loot in front of us? I once played in a mostly pred lobby where one of my teammates didn't know how to heal. He played the entire game with 30 health and no shield.

Just to put some actual numbers on this: I kept track of my teammates' average damage in trios for a week. They averaged 84. My average teammate over the course of a week was good for 84 damage per game. That is egregious.

Are you playing ranked or pubs?
