Let's take a look and see if we can figure out what's causing this to happen. Since you're able to log into the same account through Origin, it doesn't sound like the account itself is having any issues. There may be something locally blocking the connection for the Steam version of the game. 

 

When you have the chance I'd recommend starting off with the basic connection steps from the EA Help site to see if that helps. If it keeps happening after that check out the PC-specific steps as well.

Can we also try changing the DNS in Windows to see if that makes a difference? I've seen some past cases where that has helped with similar issues. 

 

You can change the DNS through the Windows TCP/IP Settings. For more information on how to get there check out the Microsoft Support website. If you choose the Manual option you can enter a DNS of your choosing. I usually go with the public Google DNS (Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8; secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4), but if there's a different DNS you'd rather use instead that's OK as well.

Looking through the DxDiag I noticed some errors with a few different Windows processes. When you have the chance can you try running the Windows System File Checker to see if it's able to find any issues? You can find more details on how to run it over at the Microsoft Support Website
