I'm a 37 yr old, season1 player with two young kids. I've had a console system since the original NES. Goldeneye was my first shooter, and I've been hooked ever since. I'll never forget the day a few years ago when I was talking with a buddy about how I hated fortnite, thought it was overhyped, and wished there was some other BR I could get into. PUBG wasn't my thing, and Halo 3/ Battlefield had been my go-tos for awhile. He suggested Apex Legends, saying it was 'fortnite for adults', and the rest as they say is history.
I've never enjoyed a game more. The fluid movement, the shooting mechanics, the regular character additions (with unique abilities)...nothing else ever comes close.
Then the Season 12 update dropped, and I started playing Control. It's like Battlefield and Apex had a beautiful, beautiful baby, and I fell in love with this game all over again.
I got hit with the bug that wiped my characters and inventory, and it was fixed almost immediately. The devs have been responsive, humble, and considering how toxic the hardcore apex community can be, very open with mistakes and changes they see.
TLDR; The Apex Team has done, and continues to do a great job on the best shooter I've ever played.
Keep up the great work! I can't wait for 2026 when the select character screen looks like Smash Brothers, with so many that you have to squint to make them out!
