Hello everyone! :)

I'm not sure if posts like these are allowed here, but I'd just like to express how much this game means to me (despite never playing it...yet!).

I am a huge sucker for the whole D&D, LoTR, and Dragon Age type of fantasy within the fantasy movie & game genreβ€”y'know, with all the mystical races, wild monsters, intriguing stories, etc.β€”and I've always been super eager to play an MMO. More nerds into the stuff I'm into? Sounds great! But, as a guy coming from playing games like Skyrim, the MMO scene was...uh...woah.

I immediately lost interest the moment I saw a (World of Warcraft, iirc) screenshot of what I can only describe as a complete mess of a UI; like several HUDs all stacked upon one another all over the screen! Absolutely madness! Chaos! There was no way I'd be able to just hop right in and get going with whatever adventures await in that game.

After that spook, I thought I'd take a minute to dive into what exactly makes an MMO an MMO, the pros and cons to them, and if anyone else shared my same thoughts and concerns regarding those who are new to MMOs. But instead, I stumbled upon a huge number of players anywhere from mildly to extremely dissatisfied with the current state of MMOs.

People were complaining about a myriad of different features in popular MMOs; from other players, to the level progression, to the customization options and more. Now, I can't remember when it was exactly that I discovered AoC, but I remember watching a YouTuber talk about it enthusiastically a year or so ago. I was blown away...but I didn't want to let my hype cloud my judgment, so I went ahead and spent some time learning about the game on my own. I was blown away. Again.

From the combat mechanics to the character & creature design, I continued to be pleasantly surprised by just how much Intrepid values their player feedback. Now that's an MMO I can get behind. Made by people who have a passion for these games and want to make theirs the best it can be and more? Let's go!!! Now we're talking!

Not to get too cheesy here, but the first Development Update I watched honestly changed my life. I've been considering getting into 3D Modeling and becoming a 3D Environment Artist in the gaming industry, and seeing all the talent showcased within inspired me to chase this dream. I want to inspire people like Intrepid has inspired me. I want to create things that make people excited to pour themselves into a game and really feel like they're travelling through all sorts of different lands, meeting all kinds of different creatures, friends and foes. Seriously, I believe this game is something truly special. I can't wait until it's release! :)
