I joined a guild called the Gray Sentinels whose leader Anduin held an Ashes themed art contest in August, and then again in September. I honestly just forgot to post them to my social media. I am Withywindel on Twitter and Discord, Withywindle here because it turns out the proper spelling wasn't taken!

The first art contest prompt was "Action" so I decided to show a Ranger in Sentinel colors protecting a little girl from a spider demon attack. I imagine the girl was lost and the Ranger found her but was ambushed. No worries, she's powering up a good ole reliable lightning arrow. The yellow crackly in the background is supposed to be glowyness in the stone but whatever. I was pretty happy with it!

I call it "When Cornered."

My second art contest prompt was "Royal Court." This piece implies the story of a Sentinel who caught the eye of the Vaelune ruler of an economic powerhouse of a City located in the heart of the desert. This City has been courted by the Gray Sentinels to bring a piece of the desert into the Kingdom and establish a prosperous number of trade routes. Surrounded by the very friends and guildmates who helped him gather the materials for his Masterpiece of an engagement ring, and its appropriately impressive “box,” he boldly proposes to her eagerly and unceremoniously in the middle of a diplomatic gathering. This is no matter, though, because the kind of gal who can arm wrestle the well-armed super rich into submission and falls in love with a dragon slaying dwarf and his adventurous tales is delighted with the surprise!

The crowd here is mostly unnamed characters that belong to various guild members adapted slightly to Verran cultures as shown in costume and concept art. For credits’ sake, characters belong to: Anduin, Sebaya, Haelae, Knytemaire, BriaxTLK, Lelyssia, Zeffieria, Atori, Alhaus, PixieDragon, Aodhine, and Kernelxanders. Though several might go by other names elsewhere lol. I did this in a new style I haven't tried before but I think it turned out great and I'd love to do more!

I call this one "A Bold Proposal."

And here are character close ups because I started doing full body paintings before remembering they'd be obscured by each other! lol And I wanted my guild peeps to see their character better.

These are gorgeous, thank you for sharing! <3 can't wait to see what you post up next!

Also, who could refuse a proposal like that, straight from the dragon's mouth 🤣
