33s going to be showing off The Bard and it
38s is a good as you can see it is a good
41s looking Bard right now this armor set
44s the uh what is the name of this armor
46s set this the rose rose Thorn Rose Thorn
48s armor set oh my God I am in love with
51s this and Manny did this right mhm it
54s looks so good I mean we we have a great
56s shot here I am joined as you can see by
60s uh five of our glor actually F all five
62s of you are designers we don't have any
64s Engineers today we don't have any
65s artists today we're all designers how
68s how selfish is that of us but but I am
72s joined uh by five of our glorious
74s designers many of whom have been on the
75s show before but for the first time we
77s have a sound dude with us Tori how you
79s doing Tori doing great and you know I
82s think I would put myself in the artist
83s category Mor designer cuz I don't really
85s get the numbers I just make go that is
87s true you're representing here the
89s artists that is very true I didn't even
91s think about that but Tor we're excited
92s to have you because of course The Bard
94s is an very sound oriented class probably
97s the most of all of our archetypes in the
99s game and you have done a phenomenal job
101s with these sounds um thank you yes so
103s excited to have you and chat about what
105s you've been working on with Bard we also
107s have some of our regular uh combat dudes
110s specifically three on the arch type
113s combat design side uh TRD Brian Bucky

121s theard yes and and I also see not only
125s The Bard but we have a floating giant
128s Spellbook in front of us and for the
129s first time we're going to be looking at
131s the Spellbook weapon as well Brian I
134s know you did a lot of work on that yeah
137s um myself um and other members of the
140s team like Noah and Matt especially put a
144s lot of work into this cuz it's it's
146s animating by itself it's not using the
148s typical uh way we attach weapons so yeah
152s we'll get into that in a little bit I
154s love it I love it and then we also have
156s with us one of our glorious NPC senior
158s designers Doug how you doing buddy I'm
161s doing great looking forward to killing
162s some monsters yes and we have some new
165s and interesting monster types that we're
167s going to talk a little bit about that
168s have been implemented that is going to
170s shake up a little bit of the encounter
171s design uh which I know you and your team
173s have been doing a lot of work on yeah
175s excited to shut things off very cool so
179s first and and foremost where are we we
183s are in the riverlands of course but we
186s are in an
189s area uh that I don't think we've ever
191s been at before this is the where is this
193s Bucky this is the deral states yep
196s that's right we're going about to
198s venture through the daral estate and
200s there's some used to be owned by the
202s family of daral way back in the day now
205s after the return to Vera uh bunch of
208s peasants moved in and we're farming the
209s land for while but now I think some more
212s Sinister forces have taken over and are
215s reanimating the dead and all sorts of
217s bad stuff's going on here so we got to
218s go love this love it and it is it is
222s daytime out currently uh in the in the
225s spring time uh 3 days 3 hours and 35
229s minutes remaining until summer I love
232s that that is very
237s cool okay
239s so normally what we've done in the past
242s when we have new archetypes is we kind
243s of go through each of the abilities and
247s uh Bucky I know that obviously you are
249s the master of The Bard this is your uh
252s uh class design as as many of you know
255s Dr Bucky has um a wide repertoire of
258s skill sets uh as well as his work on the
261s system side he's been doing a lot of
262s work on the combat side and The Bard is
264s near and dear to his heart so Bucky talk
266s to me a little bit about the inspiration
268s for this Bard class before we start
269s getting into some of of the
271s abilities oh man yeah we had tons of
274s different Inspirations obviously you
276s know the lineage archage sword singer uh
279s blade dancers I believe um but then
282s other from other OS as well like some
284s Concepts from Wow and stuff we really
286s gravitated towards um but one of the big
289s things we wanted to do with this part
290s specifically was not to focus
291s specifically on just song or dance what
294s but have kind of a culmination of a
295s bunch of different of these themes Al
297s together in the same kit so as you can
299s see down the ability bar you know we got
300s some Melodies dances songs all working
304s together to build out this kit all right
306s so I'm I'm I'm opening up the skill tree
309s Here and Now obviously we're level 10 so
312s for those of you guys who are tuning in
313s for the first time I just want to
315s preface as is necessary and our
317s obligatory kind of of of of discussion
320s Point here everything you see is a work
322s in progress that includes mainly the UI
326s elements the uh the uh effects visual
329s effects um uh but what you're going to
332s see right now we have a lot of these
334s abilities already speced um you wouldn't
337s normally
340s have of today's demonstration um we are
344s obviously going to go outside of what is
345s typical uh in order to kind of give you
348s guys insight to the class um so this
350s skill tree that we we've done a little
352s bit of a rework on skill tree
354s progression Trad do you want to talk a
355s little bit about what we've changed for
357s the purposes of Alpha 2 uh with the
359s skill train and how it's set
361s up absolutely yeah so um for those who
366s uh were were accustomed to some of the
369s structures that we had in place before
371s they were very uh rigid right like there
374s there were very specific paths that were
376s linear and in if you wanted to get to a
378s particular skill um you would have to
380s take a very set path to get there and
382s while some of that is desired like you
384s if you if you don't have any of that
385s then you don't really have a skill tree
387s at all um but we wanted to open it up
389s and and give a little bit more freedom
391s of choice um so in this version of the
394s tree you'll notice that rather than
397s these ongoing linear branches going in
399s different directions um you have
402s essentially tiers of skills so you'll
404s you'll see three tiers the bottom the
406s middle and the top as you invest points
408s into each tier eventually you'll unlock
410s access to the next tier so for example
412s to get to that second tier um you need
415s to put four points into the tier below
418s so it gives you a bit more freedom of
420s which skills you pick with while keeping
422s you within that tier before it lets you
423s go on to the next one and usually each
425s tier has a bit more advanced um
427s abilities um so it's also a good way of
429s introducing you to the archetype awesome
431s and and this is obviously something that
432s we have distributed across all of the
434s archetypes for the purposes of alpat to
436s that's something that you and your team
437s are going to be collecting a lot of
439s information from from players as they
441s you know give us their feedback and and
444s and play through kind of the uh the
445s skill tree progression we'll be tuning
447s that as as as that information comes in
450s I notice here Bucky that at the start of
453s this tree there is an instrument
455s selection talk to me a little bit about
457s that yeah so the way we decided to do
460s instruments is they're mainly just a
462s cosmetic choice right now so players can
465s choose as their first choice at The Bard
467s what instrument they want to play all
468s their Melodies with and so this will
469s actually change the animations and
471s change the sound effects of um what how
473s The Melodies will play love it that's
476s super cool and obviously this is
477s something that we'll be expanding upon
478s in the future right with different
480s instruments that you'll have access to
482s um but it allows obviously players the
485s opportunity to kind of customize um
487s their own personal barred experience now
491s after this um after this instrument talk
495s to me a little bit about some of the
496s first abilities we're going to take a
497s look at I see they're they're here on
499s the uh skill bar one through um one
503s through five where do we want to start
506s so we can just start with one so these
508s these first five abilities are all of
509s your Melody abil
510s and so they all share someon someon
513s similarities um so basically they're all
516s large persistent AOE Buffs or debuffs um
520s so the first one is cheerful Melody
521s which applies a healing received bonus
524s to your party and heals them over time
526s okay so I see that here that this
528s lightly heals the party for
533s 15% magical power healing magical power
537s every two seconds and if I look at my
540s uh magical power I'm at 33 magical power
545s and and and you know in the past we
547s haven't really talked too much about our
550s primary attributes their waterfall stats
552s do you want to talk a little bit about
554s magical power how we derive that
556s waterfall um and what contributes to it
559s sure yeah so your main uh attribute that
561s waterfalls into magical power is going
563s to be intellect and so that's a large
565s portion of intellects giving you magical
567s power but it also gives you other stats
568s such as um
570s critical power I believe accuracy and uh
575s one other one perhaps casting speed cool
578s yeah so each of each of the attributes
579s will waterfall into a variety of these
581s stats but um magical power is an
582s important one for increasing the you
584s know damage or healing of your abilities
586s okay so to demonstrate this we probably
588s need somebody in the party to to have
591s some lower
593s Health yeah who should we do that
597s to you know Brian is the tank Brian I
601s can't even see you you're literally
602s hiding behind a shield you're smaller
604s than the shield I think this book is
605s larger than
609s youf DW Strat right there oh no I nked
613s him okay he's nuked all right so you've
616s lost some health Brian now we are going
618s to um oh by the way I think this is the
621s first time since alpha 1 that we have
623s had a duner uh in one of the live
626s streams so very cool love it all right
630s so now let let me use this cheerful
632s Melody and see how it affects your
634s healing you're at
637s 578 oh very cool and talk to me about
640s cheerful Melody kind of how it
642s works yeah so this applies a buff to the
644s whole party um so everyone's getting
646s this little very very light healing over
648s time but the biggest thing this does is
650s it increases all the other healing you
651s receive so obviously this whole combo
653s great with the cleric it's kind of like
655s you know the clerics are still going to
656s be our Premier healers right but BS are
657s more of a support role and they'll
659s really will power up clerics and all the
660s other archetypes when they're in the
661s party okay so I can I can click on this
664s melody and it says it's a it's a 20
666s second cast so basically it's ticking
670s throughout that time and can I use other
671s abilities while the melody is playing
674s that's right yeah that's another big
675s part of that Melodies is that they work
676s concurrently with your other abilities
678s so you can be casting in the other stuff
680s doing weapon combos Dodge rolling and
681s that'll all not interrupt your Melody
683s that's active very cool and now Tori we
687s don't have kind of the final versions of
689s our our composed uh music in for these
692s Melodies but the intent there is to have
694s our composer be creating these Melodies
697s to kind of live harmoniously with the
701s ambient music of the biome as well as
704s the other skills and abilities correct
706s it's going to be a uh decently complex
709s system so it will take a while to get it
710s properly implemented but we won't want
712s the music to interfere with your
714s experience in a very atonal way
717s especially for uh at least those barred
719s uh Melody abilities um those are going
722s to be happening enough that you don't
723s want them to be too annoying very cool
726s and now Bucky specifically you mentioned
728s that this cheerful Melody it augments
732s the healing received from the primary
735s healing Arch type which of course is the
736s cleric and talk to me a little bit about
738s the differences between the types of
740s healing effects conferred Through The
742s Bard archetype versus the types of
744s healing effects convert through the
747s cleric yeah for sure like like I was
749s saying a little bit earlier uh bards are
751s definitely going to be they'll be able
752s to do some healing but it's going to be
754s more kind of regenerative healing over
756s time lighter the real you know th burst
760s healing is going to always come from
762s clerics um but bards will be able to
765s keep you know a couple players alive and
767s they'll just have to you know play
767s defensively and careful but uh yeah so
770s it's a little bit slower healing cool
772s very cool so obviously we're keeping
773s that burst healing towards the cleric
776s those are the people who are going to be
777s able to actually sustain you in a pinch
779s or
780s through significant damage received
782s whereas The Bard is an augment to that
785s and empowers the cleric's ability to
787s kind of confer those effects on the
789s party okay very cool cheerful Melody
791s that's awesome I love the effects for
793s this I think that was SAA that did these
795s yeah Ste did all the effects on the bar
796s and he really he really did a great job
798s he was killing it looked phenomenal and
800s Nat did the uh the icons yep Nat did the
803s icons and all the concepts for the
805s effects which really you know helped the
806s whole process Out start on the right
808s foot very well done love but okay let's
811s talk about our next
812s Melody yep so this next one's called
814s pensive Melody and this is just a slow
817s Mana regen over
819s time okay so this is kind of a yeah just
822s if your part is low on Mana doesn't need
823s healing doesn't need some other effects
825s you can switch to a Mana regenerations
827s to give everybody a little bit of uh
828s sustain for longer you know fights and
831s stuff like that now we've seen one other
833s Mana um recovery ability in the past I
836s believe and that was on the cleric uh um
840s and that was that was uh conferred Mana
844s restoration through your weapon
847s attack yep I've got a spec right now and
849s I'll be using that as well so those two
851s things in conjunction will be really
852s nice for the lucky Target that gets it
855s um the the biggest difference obviously
857s is that that is a single Target ability
859s that you can only maintain on one target
860s at a time so it's more potent but again
862s uh kind of reinforcing the theme of The
864s Healing uh the the strength of The Bard
866s is is party-wide benefits um there not
870s to say the cleric won't have some party
871s wide stuff to but that's really where
873s the B shines is in in a in an eight
875s eight-man party very cool so Doug as
878s you're kind of authoring the encounter
880s designs for you know obviously party
883s compositions you guys are taking into
885s account the restorative ability of a
888s particular arct type design or party
890s comp around these like these these Mana
893s abilities right because you want to tax
895s those parties uh significantly in
898s between different po PS and taking into
901s account what restorative Mana there is
903s available to a party design um is
905s calculated in in the NPCs correct yeah
909s and you're going to see that a little
910s bit today I think we're going to start
912s without uh Trad here dealing is the
914s cleric so we're going to go in with a
915s tank and and only a barge and have that
917s sustained support uh heal us uh I think
921s and then we're going to have a cleric
922s join us later and fight stronger enemies
924s and that's really going to be the
925s determining factor is like you know if
927s you're you're a small group you might be
928s able to get away with B uh as your only
931s support/ healing um if you have a tank
933s but then maybe if you don't have a tank
935s you'll want to bring a cleric U so
937s composition strength enemies these all
939s things that matter now I notice that um
943s when activating these Melodies that the
947s radius uh seems to be pretty
950s significant um I'm assuming that uh on
953s the um visual effect side that uh this
957s ring as it expands and kind of ends out
960s there um that's the distance that I need
963s to maintain as a Bard within or rather
966s my party needs to maintain within
968s proximity of of myself that's pretty
971s generous yeah the idea was we wanted to
974s have just something Baseline for BS that
976s they can as long as they upkeep this
977s ability it privides just kind of like a
980s default you know bonus to your party
982s depending on which one you choose um
984s whereas the other abilities are more man
985s intensive cool and intensive um to
988s differentiate them a bit cool cool I can
990s also speak a little more to the the
992s general Paradigm between um party and
995s AOE abilities um usually with things
998s that are party based um we're a bit more
1001s um lenient on on the radius just because
1004s it is already limited on one axis to to
1007s members only within your party um but
1009s then we'll also have abilities that
1011s Target an area and it'll hit any number
1014s of people or whatever like regardless of
1016s whether they're in your party or not but
1018s they're more proximity throttled very
1020s cool now talk to me about epic
1024s Melody this one is a movement speed
1026s boost to your whole group so if you need
1028s to run away or get to someplace quick or
1030s do you just want to grind through a POI
1033s really fast then you can switch to this
1035s one yeah they'll have some great uses in
1037s PvP as
1038s well oh okay I see he gets a little bit
1041s more down and dirty in this one the
1043s animations look great yeah yeah yeah so
1045s we kind of have different different
1047s styles of animations for each of the
1048s instruments depending on like you know
1049s if the song's a kind of a more calm song
1051s or an intense song um but yeah this is a
1055s nice speed boost for the whole team you
1057s guys got to get some
1059s place very cool that's awesome of course
1062s Soward would be complete without some
1063s type of movement modifier exactly
1066s exactly right I love it um okay talk to
1069s me about cathartic
1071s Melody this one will give uh everyone in
1073s your party a chance to heal themselves
1075s so it's kind of like a leech song so
1077s it's kind of an alternative way to apply
1079s some some healing support um but
1083s obviously it only will work with the
1084s group that has a lot of people doing a
1085s lot of damage so if you're in kind of
1086s like the Healer group or the tank group
1088s maybe it wouldn't be as good to use that
1089s one but if you're in a group full of you
1091s know all DPS it might be more effective
1094s to provide some bonus healing now I see
1096s this says that your attacks have a 25%
1098s chance to heal yourself for the for 50%
1102s of the Damage Done is that 50% of damage
1104s done on a per ability basis or just for
1107s your weapons attack or all the
1110s right right now it's all of the above
1111s but um you know we can keep iterating on
1113s this but uh it feels in in practice it
1115s feels like it gives a little bit of
1116s support but obviously you wouldn't be
1118s able to just completely replace the need
1119s for a cleric with this so uh yeah but
1122s obviously all the exact numbers are you
1123s know we're still eating on as we get
1125s closer to Alpha 2 yeah one one extra
1127s thing to add to this I I like the um
1130s strategic or tactical choice that year
1132s kind of constantly making between
1134s cathartic and um and the other healing
1136s one um cheerful just because you know
1139s you you want to keep cheerful going
1142s maybe when you're running between
1143s encounters or packs you know there's not
1145s a lot a lot of like activity going on
1146s and then when you see like a bunch of
1148s like burst combat or something happening
1150s you probably want to switch over to that
1152s so you're almost like kind of bouncing
1154s between them while healing instead of
1156s just passively having one going on all
1158s the time and then also there's a little
1160s bit of weaving opportunity that I think
1161s we'll get into in a little bit later too
1163s absolutely I mean how often in you know
1166s raids or you know in hunting grounds
1169s that you will want to burn through Mana
1172s right I mean during that time you may
1174s want to have your cathartic Melody
1176s active while your DPSS are burning
1178s through their Mana versus when you're in
1181s a lull pull or you know something a bit
1183s more um uh sustainable keeping that 20%
1187s healing received and the uh and the
1189s regen up that makes a lot of sense um so
1193s effectively at this 25% chance to heal
1195s for 50% of the Damage Done that's almost
1197s like a on average probably around 12
1199s 133% consistent life steal exactly yeah
1203s so it kind of really depends on the
1204s situation right like you guys were
1206s saying so it's nice to have the options
1208s absolutely all right talk to me about
1210s menacing
1211s Melody okay so this one is the one
1213s different one This only affects enemies
1216s so it applies a debuff to all nearby
1218s enemies that'll make them take increased
1220s damage so you can see over there that
1222s myet in the background has this menacing
1224s Melody debuff yeah see so uh it'll make
1228s him be taking more damage
1230s I like the Synergy between that and
1232s cathartic as well yeah yeah that's those
1234s are two great ones to weave
1236s together okay so this basically um you
1240s forego benefit to the party directly and
1243s in instead apply that 10% debuff uh to
1247s enemies within the radius and again that
1250s that's a pretty significant
1251s radius yeah I think uh we were planning
1253s on making that uh Target limited to the
1256s like the rest of the Melodies are um but
1258s uh yeah that's something we're going
1259s we're going to add probably like eight
1261s nearest Targets or something like that
1263s right okay so it's not yeah so some type
1265s of diminishing return on that effect
1267s yeah yeah yeah
1269s cool okay so those are the five Melodies
1272s let me open this back up again just so I
1274s can take a look we wanted now we could
1276s just talk about the uh the two Melody uh
1279s passive specialization options because
1281s we were kind of mentioning that like the
1282s weaving Style versus like the charge up
1284s style mhm that's going to be the uh up
1286s at the top in the middle the plus sign
1289s that's where you can choose yeah so this
1290s is a passive that unlocks level 10 so
1293s there's the two options here so one of
1295s them is called Crescendo which is your
1297s Melodies just power up slowly over time
1298s over the course of that 20 second cast
1301s and then the second option is called
1302s Counterpoint where every 20 seconds you
1305s can switch between Melodies and the last
1306s Melody will its effects will still be
1308s active so you can kind of weave two
1309s Melodies at once which opens up a lot of
1311s cool potential very cool yeah now that
1314s that is
1315s um that is something that I think uh is
1319s even expandable upon as we continue
1321s beyond Alpha 2 above level 25 you may
1325s add additional um uh Melody concurrency
1329s is that is that what you're saying
1331s exactly exactly yeah we might we might
1332s even just make this Counterpoint thing
1334s just something that you get for sure
1335s like weaving we want all Bs do because
1337s that's you know that's a really fun
1338s gameplay a lot of Bard players gravitate
1339s towards and it it really does make it
1341s fun with the Melodies you know when you
1343s can combine two of five that's a lot of
1344s different options right right so this is
1347s this is kind of a a broader Spectrum
1350s Choice versus a higher vertical uh
1352s effect and so you you said this increase
1355s in power over the course of 20 seconds
1357s this is something that scales on a step
1360s uh essentially over that 20 seconds or
1361s or rather linear it's linear right now
1364s but um we were talking about
1365s experimenting with making it steps like
1367s every every you know 5 seconds or
1369s something make it chunks up a little bit
1371s but um that's kind of the option for
1373s people who don't maybe want to have to
1375s deal with weaving back and forth and
1376s want to just kind of stick to a song and
1377s get rewarded for staying in one song for
1379s longer one Melody for longer cool are
1382s these also Melody Centric the other two
1385s uh the other two so those are for the
1386s other groups of abilities there's dance
1388s Mastery specialization and song Mastery
1389s specialization but um if you wanted to
1391s demo we could demo the Counterpoint one
1392s really quick just take a look uh yeah so
1396s yeah like the weaving Counterpoint all
1398s right if you confirm that and
1402s now yeah so now if you do for example if
1404s you do the cheerful
1406s Melody um you'll see the buff we're all
1408s getting is going to start lasting longer
1410s and longer on our party frames mhm um so
1413s once we get to 20 seconds it'll be
1415s applied at 20 seconds so that means the
1417s next 20 seconds we can switch to a
1418s different Melody and then this one will
1420s kind of be going the whole time so we'll
1421s be effectively having two stacked up at
1423s the same time that's kind of what this
1426s this Stinger right here that's that's
1428s showing you okay your Melody's at 20
1430s seconds full charge now you could switch
1431s to you know yeah cathartic orive oh wow
1436s so yep so we have both Melody Buffs are
1439s active right now as you can see cheerful
1440s is starting to wear off so after 20
1442s seconds in cathartic cheerful is going
1443s to fall off and we'll have to weave back
1445s to that one or weave to a different one
1446s so that's a lot of different options so
1448s you're so you're upkeeping um so as I
1452s see now cheerful has fallen off I can
1455s add the cheerful back yep so you kind of
1459s you know weave back and forth between
1460s two you want to use or you know
1462s alternate to whatever the part is
1463s needing in the current time so lot of
1465s different ways to play
1467s it that's pretty cool
1470s yeah I like that gameplay so that's
1472s that's that's essentially you know as
1474s The Bard you you are very cognizant of
1477s kind of the situation that the party is
1478s in and you have all of these different
1480s types of effects that you can confer
1482s you're essentially you know monitoring
1484s what the party needs at a any given time
1486s and able to swap in between these
1488s without without letting the last
1491s utilized uh Melody go to waste M that's
1495s very cool that's what I do with that one
1497s weaving is a classic I feel like a lot
1499s of even older MMOs um you know some
1503s people love it some people hate it
1505s that's kind of why we have it as a spec
1506s option so it you know you can choose
1508s whether that's your style of gameplay or
1510s not um but we we think it's cool and I
1512s think we've taken it to um another level
1514s that you know in some games in the past
1516s at least I know weaving has been kind of
1519s janky or clunky or even unintended but I
1521s think we're leaning into it and I think
1523s it's it's a better version yeah I agree
1525s that's that's awesome okay what have we
1528s got next Bucky uh so next on your bar is
1531s a different ability this is a Mobility
1533s ability called flourish oh whoops oh oh
1537s no spoiler spoiler
1545s alert I'm sorry I must have the auto
1548s attack uh enabled do you want that
1551s enabled Bucky um no you can turn it off
1553s if you want okay oh let me let me uh
1556s open up my game options and go to combat
1559s there it is the third check box and I
1561s will uncheck my auto attack I apologize
1564s everybody your auto attack privileges
1566s are revoked yes you you saw you saw a
1569s preview of the
1571s Spellbook I'm watching that guy like
1574s slowly get closer to us little by little
1577s I didn't expect us to attack him curious
1580s mushroom oh now that would have been a
1582s good opportunity for me to use flourish
1583s actually to get out of Dodge right yep
1586s you could have done that yeah but uh
1588s yeah that's yeah number six so this is
1589s just like a Mobility ability so similar
1591s to Blink in some ways however this has
1594s the added bonus that you can use it
1596s during any other abilities so kind of
1597s like with your Melodies you can cast
1598s them while you're doing other abilities
1600s this flourish you can cast during other
1603s abilities use it while you're turning
1605s Stephen yeah and it lets you Seer a
1607s little bit too like move your character
1610s as wait what your character while you're
1613s dashing while I'm dashing yeah
1617s spin there
1620s that's cool I love this one oh that's
1624s awesome I love that
1626s Mobility how cool is that I also love
1629s the uh the effects for this yeah it
1633s looks pretty pretty exciting but uh yeah
1636s so it's a great ability like especially
1638s as you see later the next group of
1639s abilities we're getting into are uh the
1640s dance abilities and this move combos
1643s really well with those because it lets
1645s you get into position to do the dances
1648s um it also lets you you know get out of

1656s Collision so you can not get blocked or
1658s trapped different ways yeah that's
1660s pretty awesome um now obviously guys as
1663s I said before I do have my cooldowns
1665s turned off for the purposes of
1667s demonstration here uh but the cool down
1669s here would normally be um I think it's
1673s like a 15-second cool down with two
1674s charges or something like that oh okay
1676s cool so it has a couple of charges that
1677s you can use yeah you can save it up and
1679s use it okay so you're talking a little
1681s bit about these dance abilities and I am
1683s absolutely in love with the icons
1686s here yeah they're great they're pretty
1688s great um yeah so this next category of
1690s abilities are dances and so they're all
1692s kind of uh in contrast to the large
1694s radius Melodies these are all lot
1697s shorter range uh abilities but with
1699s pretty powerful effects so this first
1701s one's called shielding dance which uh
1703s heals everybody for a little bit over
1704s time and also applies a a heavy temp
1707s Health Shield so this is is a great one
1709s to use when people are about to die and
1710s the cleric needs some more time to heal
1712s you can give everyone a shield okay so
1715s this applies a shield to everyone around
1717s me uh yep heal yourself and nearby
1721s allies for 50% of your magical power
1723s every second and apply up to one
1727s instance of The Shield to each Target if
1729s you hold shift you can see the tool tip
1731s for a shield which is yeah just some
1733s temp Health oh wow that's awesome 400%
1738s of your healing power mhm for 15 seconds
1741s wow okay and my healing power we saw was
1743s like 40 or something yeah yeah so it's a
1745s decent decent little chunk of Health um
1747s or temp Health that is and but the
1749s downside of this one is that it's only a
1751s 5 meter range so it's quite it's
1753s basically melee range so that's why you
1755s really need flourish to you
1757s know there we go oh my
1761s God Tori I love the sound of that holy
1765s smoke that is so much that is so good
1768s absolutely one of my favorites from the
1770s whole
1772s set oh I love this so now I can move
1774s while I'm using this as well yep you can
1777s move while you're doing it and you can
1778s also KNE slide while you're doing
1780s it so with the long longer cast duration
1784s um you know you might hit hit some close
1786s by people with initially then you want
1787s to knee slide to another group of people
1789s to get it with the end so it kind of
1791s since it has a decent duration you get
1792s you have some time to apply the buff to
1793s as much as people as possible is kind of
1795s the idea with that
1796s one I just want to comment on on the
1798s shield application as well like how it
1801s materializes is just awesome that is so
1804s good SAA did such a great job with this
1807s holy smokes I love
1809s that great and then the little lights
1812s above you little sigil notes hold on you
1815s know let me let me put myself in walk
1817s mode just so I can see myself slow move
1819s on the dancing here hold

1837s would just use that single ability the

1870s pretty high base evasion buff um so just
1873s another form you know of mitigation
1874s damage reduction hopefully people will
1875s Dodge right um and then Pep's uh short
1879s movement speed boost which a couple of
1881s the different abilities around the B kit
1882s are giving um kindar wow so if I have if
1886s I have both um the Epic Melody as well
1890s as Nimble dance playing those
1894s stack yep right now they stack yeah so
1896s it'll be an additive bonus of 40%
1898s movement speed so yeah you can get going
1899s pretty quick oh my God put that up and

2073s ones so there's a lot of stuff going on
2075s but I think we're doing a pretty good
2076s job of combining it so it feels in world

2086s dance Yep this next one is a offensive
2089s CC type spell so this will it's a little
2092s bit shorter cast than the rest um but it
2095s basically applies incapacitate to all
2096s nearby Targets

2100s enemies do you want to drop party maybe
2104s sure yeah it' be good to have that for
2106s the some of these offensive abilities
2107s coming up all right you're going to have

2146s because it just has a just a sudden
2148s effect and it's not as much of about the
2149s duration but uh yeah nice be able to
2152s knee slide in flourish in and get a stun
2154s off flourish out you know oh I put him
2157s to sleep again he's
2159s incapacitated oh and now he has
2162s immunity that's a nice segue what is
2164s this diminishing
2166s returns yep talk to us about this trap
2170s for a little while our game was a bit
2172s unbalanced when it came to the crowd
2173s control so uh I figured it was time for
2175s a diminishing return system to be put in
2177s place um I can I won't get go into like
2180s super detail about it but the basic idea
2183s is we have created different like
2186s categories of CC so you've got
2188s um hard CC you've got movement CC you
2191s got activation CC like silence and
2193s disarm and each of those categories will
2196s um tick up as the duration ticks uh and
2199s once you've hit a max amount of duration
2201s of that CC category it'll kick in a
2203s temporary immunity period um so you know
2206s we'll we'll probably iterate on this
2208s more just as we do with everything else
2210s but we wanted something in place just so
2213s that people can't like Perma lock you
2214s down cuz nobody likes that and just to
2217s just to give some clar obviously to the
2218s audience you have bucke tized
2221s essentially the different types of
2223s control effects so that they don't all
2226s share the same diminishing return values
2230s but rather each of these effects share
2232s with some other effect types and they
2234s will communally grant um some Dr based
2237s on the effect type yeah I mean real
2239s quick um the movement ones are snare
2242s chill root and freeze um the hard ones
2246s are the one you're seeing here um
2248s incapacitate which is breakable on
2249s damage but there's also um tier 2
2251s versions of that which is trip and stun
2253s which do not break on damage uh and then
2255s you have your activation CC's which are
2257s silence and disarm and um potentially
2259s more in the future but that's what we
2261s got right
2262s now very nice that is awesome I know
2265s that from a from a user experience
2267s standpoint obviously um we were getting
2269s a lot of feedback from the test that hey
2271s when is this system going to be in place
2272s it's really feeling crappy and PVP and
2275s in the encounters to just consistently
2277s get tripped or snared or you know
2280s whatever um and now you guys have
2282s implemented this so well done very nice
2284s that's definitely going to help remember
2285s being rooted for like 30 seconds during
2287s that node War live stream like yeah I'll
2290s get out of here one day my my primary
2292s motivation was playing as a fighter in
2293s PvP and getting Perma rooted I'm like
2295s nope nope we're changing this right now
2297s my gosh it was so good okay so
2299s mesmerizing dance that's that's super
2300s useful and that's obviously uh short
2303s radius AOE effect with a 5 m range there
2306s but pretty significant considering that
2307s it's an cast that's a pretty strong
2309s ability um yeah yeah okay cool what do
2313s we got next maddening
2315s dance so this one's just more of a
2317s general AOE damage ability um that
2319s scales up if there's less targets so
2322s there's a lot of targets it'll do 40%
2323s magical power but if there's just a few
2325s it'll do more um and it also has some
2327s interaction with uh status of the bar
2329s that can apply which is demoralized and
2331s it'll promote that to humiliated which
2333s decreases Damage Done okay so this is
2335s cool this is kind of like um you know
2338s decision to make here obviously uh if
2340s you're using it as a solo player solo
2343s barard you're going to have greater
2344s damage efficacy um against single
2346s targets or something but if you're like
2348s pulling large you know groups of mobs um
2351s it's going to automatically deprecate
2353s some of that damage mhm exactly cool
2356s let's test this on dread care again

2373s G so we're doing about 17 damage a tick
2376s there mhm okay that's pretty good that's
2379s pretty
2380s significant yeah just let the Bard get
2382s in there and get some AOE in as well I
2385s also love the screen effects that are
2387s applied there there's some there's some
2389s like screen Distortion effects a little
2391s bit Yeah I think the internal of the
2393s effect has some distorts going on
2395s something like that I don't know it
2396s looks pretty uh cursed in a good
2399s way I like how discont toed the the body
2402s is yeah exactly you know going for some
2404s sort of like weird ELR thing right I
2407s love it we should get some weird
2409s tentacles flying out of them that be
2411s cool that's super cool okay cool that's
2414s uh those are our dances are those all
2416s the dances yep those are all dances
2418s right now
2420s um yeah there's also a there's also a
2423s dance Mastery passive as well but uh
2425s we're still it's still getting some
2427s iterations so we can show that one off
2428s later okay like we said we're not you
2430s know this isn't the entire kit there's a
2431s couple abilities in here we're not going
2432s to be showing off today but you know for
2434s the most part uh we got most of it here
2436s cool all right what have we got next
2439s next up is a knockback ability it's
2443s called get off the stage get off you see
2446s next on your bar uh after the dances
2449s yeah so this is just like a short range
2452s melee knockback um which applies snared
2456s and also has some uh Interac
2458s with staggered it'll disarm your targets
2460s if they're staggered so okay so knock
2462s back enemies in front of you with your
2464s instrument dealing 175% of your um
2467s magical damage as oh is that physical
2469s damage physical Dam yeah it does 100% of
2472s your magical damage as bludgeon damage
2473s so okay got it kind of yeah and applies
2475s three stacks of snared that taper off
2478s over the course of 6 seconds also
2480s applies disarm to the target with
2481s staggered that's a nice combo for the
2484s tank and the
2486s fighter exactly yeah so if you know
2488s melee's up on you and you you're able to
2489s stagger them you can just knock them
2491s back get off the stage snare them and
2492s then they will get disarmed as well if
2493s you have them staggered all right so
2496s Trad let's use this on you you want to
2498s flag on
2499s me I think you guys are still flag I'm
2501s flaged yeah oh okay all

2588s knockbacks I would set I mean I I would
2590s push them back by at least like four or
2593s five yeah for sure yeah that's cool that
2596s looks great can also show disarm if you
2598s have a stagger Source oh yeah somebody
2601s stagger we could um we can maybe come
2603s back to these once we get to the
2604s abilities that apply those things like
2606s this next one applies to M to so check
2607s it out with maddening Dance all right
2609s which one is that quick so this next
2610s one's quick wh this is actually your
2612s starting ability as a Bard um so it's a
2615s it's a dual function ability that
2617s changes depending on whether your
2618s Target's Allied or enemy so the default
2621s if you're targeting a friend is you'll
2623s give them um well trad's not a friend
2625s but if you target like
2627s me on your guy uh it'll give me a you
2630s mean Target me yeah Target me Target me
2634s other me oh yeah for those of you who
2636s don't know um we're Bucky and I are
2638s going to be switching obviously bucker
2639s bucker bucker that's like a Mak Buck
2642s Buckaroo Buckaroo Bucky being the master
2646s of The Bard uh is going to be playing
2648s The Bard today when we when we move in
2650s uh into the um darala States um okay so
2654s I'm targeting
2655s me yep so if you use it on me it's going
2658s to apply uh some some direct healing and
2660s apply this buff called Glee which is a
2662s heal over time that lasts for a while oh
2664s let's see that Glee you are amused by
2666s the wit of a bar
2668s heals for 60% every 2 seconds lasting 15
2672s seconds and can be extended up to 30
2674s okay interesting and then it says
2676s ridicule Target so for an enemy it's
2678s going to damage them and apply
2680s demoralized which is a multiplier
2683s reduced by 10% damage multiply reduced
2685s by 10% for 8 seconds duration can be
2688s extended for up to 20 seconds by
2689s subsequent applications that's cool yeah
2691s so it's kind of like a dual function
2693s ability we've seen this before with like
2695s the cleric having judgment and some some
2697s different abilities here and there so it
2699s kind of swaps depending on the context
2702s oh yeah GLE is just like kind of a very
2704s light healing like if you compare it to
2705s the cleric for example the cleric heal
2707s over time heals very a lot more but this
2710s one's kind of just some more nice light
2711s healing potential for The Bard and
2715s uh okay that's
2717s cool and then now we should try the
2719s other effect yes and as you can see the
2722s icon changed you can guess what it's
2724s going to be oh oh that's cool so as I
2728s Target friendlies you can see your
2731s friendly icon okay so we got some UI
2733s support finally coming in here and then
2736s we also have uh now a tomato it looks
2739s like mhm talk to me a little bit about
2742s the concept for the
2743s Tomato oh man this is something Natalie
2745s was just instantly like oh we got to do
2747s a tomato toss somewhere in this kit you
2749s know it was so good especially when we
2751s were talking about what the effect would
2753s be called like you know what else would
2754s demoralize You by getting some Tomatoes
2756s thrown your face I want to see like a
2758s trip status interaction so you just like
2761s fall on your butt when you get hit by
2762s this yeah so this uh yeah the status the
2767s one that interacts with the knockback on
2769s the uh get off the stage is actually
2771s from a different ability but this would
2773s uh you can be promoted this through
2775s maddening dance so if you use maddening
2777s dance after you throw a tomato them
2779s it'll promote their demoralized to a
2782s humiliate oh I see I see I see okay okay
2785s yeah
2792s oh yeah that's cool so damage D reduced
2795s by 30% towards targets other than the
2797s applier of this effect so that means as
2801s he as the demoralized target if it
2805s doesn't Focus their abilities or effects
2808s on me that it's reducing outgoing damage
2811s by
2812s 30% that's right yeah so this is a
2814s shared status we're also using some
2816s spots in the tank kit as well
2818s um trying to experiment with making ways
2820s for you know more classical abilities
2822s like Taun and stuff to have a still have
2823s a use in PvP right where you know
2825s players don't have threat ta wouldn't do
2827s anything to players under normal
2828s circumstances but if you know we have
2829s these stat interactions then it'll still
2831s have a a great use in PvP as well that's
2834s cool that's I I'm liking these
2835s interactions that's very cool yeah and
2838s the exact interactions where things are
2839s like might change here and there you
2841s know like we're still working on the
2842s fear status as well I think that could
2844s have a really good place on the
2845s maddening dance cuz more thematically as
2847s well um but for now we got this and it's
2850s it's a pretty good combo that's very
2852s super cool and by the way guys as you're
2853s kind of watching this uh demonstration
2855s obviously you're going to see some bugs
2857s here or there one of the bugs that we
2858s have currently that we're currently
2860s working on is um some of our name plates
2862s and targeting plates uh respecting uh uh
2865s hit point updates um that's something
2867s that we're actively working on right now
2869s okay um so quick wit super cool love it
2873s what's next next up is on the next bar
2877s so this this next group of abilities are
2878s called the songs um and so these are all
2881s single Target abilities that are also
2882s channeled but have a variety of effects
2884s as well um so this first one here is
2887s called lovely serenade and that's kind
2889s of just like a heal over time that also
2891s applies Glee let me let me damage you a
2893s little
2894s bit yeah we can nuke we can nuke or
2897s actually if you want to heal a friendly
2898s we could use somebody else maybe you
2900s could heal
2905s Brian or I'll nuke Brian a little but so
2907s you can heal them up oh okay yeah there
2909s we go thank you allor
2914s right oh how cool is that let me add let
2919s me add this and then do
2925s it we're doing it we're that's a great
2929s combo of course you know increased
2930s healing received yeah your
2934s target very cool I like I I like the do
2937s ity between the archetype designs right
2939s obviously the cleric being the bread and
2941s butter the healing but having this
2944s augmented you know bar role um to kind
2948s of secondary uh regen SL heal effects um
2952s and also empowering the cleric I think
2954s is a is a very healthy compliment in the
2956s party comp yeah we want to give bards a
2958s lot of ways to you know obviously as our
2960s Premier support archetype we want to
2962s give them a lot of ways to support all
2963s the other archetypes so they can spec
2965s more for a healing support way or a
2967s damage support way or you know maybe
2969s going more for a cc oriented play style
2971s so there's a lot of different options on
2972s how you can bring value to the team love
2974s it okay I think the next one is probably
2976s one of my favorite uh visual effects
2980s designs yeah this one turned out great
2983s um this is a this is a single target
2985s attack speedcast speed bonus so can
2989s really speed up
2991s someone's power with this
2993s one all right oh yeah so you can give it
2996s to yeah that's good
3001s ooh oh yeah that was pretty significant
3003s so that's giving you 25% faster casting
3006s speed and attack speed
3011s yeah and it lasts for 10 seconds mhm
3015s that's pretty significant long most of
3017s the songs have a bit of a longer cool
3019s down I think they're about at 30 second
3020s range but um yeah it's a pretty strong
3024s uh DPS bonus to uh
3029s Target love it here dread you can have
3032s some
3035s too I don't know I think since you're uh
3038s you're flyi against some you're not
3039s going to be able to use friendly
3040s abilities on him my bad
3042s TR I got myself covered I'm a cleric I'm
3045s a
3046s cleric I love that and the sound there
3049s is awesome too I'm I'm loving the uh it
3052s almost reminds me of one of my like
3054s grandparents uh clocks oh oh yeah that's
3057s what I was going for a lot mechanical
3060s noises yeah sounds really cool yeah
3062s Incorporated a lot of classic clock
3064s sounds so they're pretty sweet uh you'll
3066s also notice that all these songs have uh
3069s some harp backing them that we put that
3071s in there to simulate uh almost like
3073s singing because their songs the ideas
3075s your character would be singing but we
3076s don't actually want singing because that
3077s would be a chaotic mess so you'll hear
3079s each of those harp sounds which convey
3081s The Melody of the uh actual song that
3084s you would be singing Love It yeah I
3087s think it turned out
3089s great that's super cool CA did such a
3092s great job with these effects yeah he
3095s killed it okay after the anthem what do
3100s we got next next up so these are two
3103s offensive single Target songs so you can
3105s use it on tread po Trad um so this next
3108s one is called the chilling lament and
3110s this is just ticking ice damage and also
3113s saacks up uh Chill on the Target and has
3117s action if they're already Frozen it'll
3118s just deal bonus damage instead okay so
3120s you can kind of you know with the Mage
3121s you know you can kind of combo some of
3123s the stuff with the Mage right all
3130s right oo that's chilling that's pretty
3134s cool the chill effect looks great too
3137s status condition yeah yeah that one look
3140s that one looks good they're still
3141s iterating a lot of stat conditions but
3143s uh the ones they did for the Mage so far
3144s are looking really good
3148s yeah that's awes what instrument is that
3150s that is a harp really okay I like it
3154s nice yeah yeah I thought it had a nice
3156s haunting tonality to it which works
3158s really well especially with these
3159s attacking
3164s abilities very cool love that all right
3168s what we got oh I think this is my
3170s another one of my favorite visual
3171s effects as
3173s well yeah so this one's called the dark
3175s lullabi and this will deal uh spirit
3178s damage which is kind of a new damage
3179s type we were adding especially once we
3181s get to Summoner two it might do more
3183s Spirit damage type stuff um but this uh
3186s is a scaling damage so it scales up in
3188s power and it also notably won't wake up
3191s incapacitated targets so normally
3193s incapacitated targets will break out
3195s upon damage but this one will uh not
3198s wake them up and if they if the final
3200s hit hits them while they're still in
3201s capacitated they become stunned so it's
3203s kind of like a a Punisher for things
3205s that are already sleeping and you like
3207s know give them even worse dreams right
3209s that means this combos well with
3211s Mesmerize correct yeah yeah hit me with
3213s that first Hit Me With Your Best okay
3219s sleep got it and
3223s now o see now I got the stun off so
3227s normally that would have broken the
3229s effect but because uh that specific
3231s ability has that interaction yeah that's
3234s coolage of death
3238s but now I'm
3246s immune that looks
3248s awesome yeah I love how the way the
3251s stars are going around the
3253s sky that's super cool super super cool
3258s okay now we have discordance so now
3262s we're moving on we have a couple more
3263s kind of miscellaneous abilities we're
3265s out of the songs now but this is just uh
3267s a single Target ability that shoots some
3269s discordant notes of your target that
3271s kind of bounce around and apply
3274s stagger yeah if there was more enemies
3276s these would actually bounce between them
3278s and apply stagger to all of them um yeah
3281s it's kind of just an extra little damage
3282s ability just to give the B some more
3284s damaging spells um and obviously the
3287s staggered interactions we saw was with
3291s um uh the get off the stage ability had
3294s an extra disarm if they're staggered so
3296s it would combo well with that and any
3299s other things that one of the things
3300s you're trying
3302s to I love the little note sounds they're
3305s so good I had a lot of fun with this one
3308s they're responsive yeah so it's a it's
3311s there's an entire octave that it's
3313s choosing between so there's all 12 uh
3315s notes in
3317s there it's really chaotic when
3320s especially if you have like three or
3322s more enemies around you and it all the
3324s notes are bouncing in between them it
3325s becomes a full discordant mess living up
3327s to its name yeah we'll see I'll make
3329s sure to demo that demo that when we get
3331s into this POI that's pretty awesome I I
3334s do love those notes it sounds really
3335s good I like the uh the staggered impact
3338s also it it feels very uh

3345s combo with to get off the stage so if
3346s they're staggered when you hit them with
3347s get off the stage uh they'll get
3349s disarmed the last uh building on the
3350s last row one back in the last row the
3352s weapon hit

3358s has interaction with staggered they'll
3359s get disarmed so that's a good combo to
3361s discordance them
3362s then hit over the head oh

3370s attack you but I can't but as soon as it
3371s wears off you'll see I can start
3373s attacking again very cool very cool kind
3375s of adds to the adds to the anti like
3377s Melee on you right you can disarm them
3379s and knock them back and snare them a
3381s little bit Yeah run away
3386s that's awesome yeah eventually a little
3389s extra polish touch we want to make
3390s eventually is it actually makes the
3392s weapon kind of go away from your hand
3394s but at the moment is just mechanical all
3396s right cool um that is discordance next
3400s up Gambit so this one is an interesting
3405s one I'm going to n Brian you have a
3406s Target to use it on the way this ability
3409s works is you will swap Health with a
3413s Target so since Brian is low Health
3415s you'll be giving him some of your health
3417s to try to heal him back up and you can
3419s use it vice versa and you can only use
3421s it on party members so it's it's a very
3423s risky ability because it'll put somebody
3425s a low Health but it can sometimes mean
3427s difference between life and death if
3428s your Tank's really low you can Gambit
3429s give some of your health to him and save
3431s his life it also applies a healing
3435s receive bonus to Target that lost life
3436s so kind of you know if you lose a bunch
3438s of life you can you can gain some
3441s back as you can see it took a lot of
3443s your total H percent HP to give it more
3446s in you so you're not you're not actually
3448s like not gaining Health in the process
3450s so it's not like yeah so you kind of
3454s great punishing for you but it helps
3455s grind a little bit or you know
3458s decently wow that is that is a very
3462s strong ability this one has a longer
3464s cool down I think it's a minute or
3465s something like that use it super
3468s often that's amazing it strength is part
3472s of why we gave it such a bright visual
3474s effect because if a Bard uses this you
3477s know the B's low on health so which
3479s targets blow them
3480s up that or you know their targets low on
3483s health right depending on the type of B
3485s they
3486s are
3488s exactly talk about a troll
3492s ability yeah party locked at least so
3495s your keeps some bars are going to be
3497s known as the Gambit
3500s BS they like the risky plays you know I
3503s love the effect there that's super cool
3506s yeah those those cards looked great
3508s that's awesome that looks very
3511s cool very
3514s nice okay what do we got next all right
3517s so we're on to the last couple abilities
3519s here so these next two abilities are
3521s what we're calling
3522s stories and so these are simple party
3525s wide Buffs that go out that last for 30
3527s seconds um and they provide you with the
3530s theme that you can use to cast more
3532s powerful ability called a
3535s saga so if you use uh let's see your
3538s clol ons are off right yep mhm yeah so
3540s the first one there is conflict um so
3543s this will give everyone just a physical
3545s power bonus
3547s multiplier um to your whole party for 30
3551s seconds oh okay very cool yep and so
3554s that's a that's a short-term buff that
3556s lasts 30 seconds yep and it also you got
3559s a note of tragedy I think up up in the
3561s top left on your character yeah so
3564s tragedy so this gives you a little
3565s little boost and also you can spend
3568s three of these themes uh to cast this
3571s powerful ability called a saga that has
3573s different effects depending on which
3574s themes you have so once you get to three
3576s you can use a combination of conflict or
3578s chaos chaos does
3581s um chaos does magical crit and these
3584s abilities normally have a 30 second cool
3585s down so you can only have one story
3586s active for now at a time
3591s um I see I see I see okay so I can apply
3595s this every 30 seconds and it keeps a
3597s record on myself of the of the last
3601s used
3603s um uh story story yeah and so um does
3609s that does that story composition change
3611s ever unless I cast another story or I'm
3615s just it'll stay until you cast a new
3617s story okay cool um right now we're only
3619s showing the stories that Grant the
3620s tragedy theme but there's uh four other
3622s stories that uh Grant both the comedy
3625s theme and the Mystery theme which will
3626s change your uh yeah so you can see the
3628s other ones on the to the right those
3630s grant that different themes that have
3631s different
3632s bonuses so mystery will give you I think
3635s increased Mana regen and the comedy
3638s theme gives you increased healing um but
3640s depending on the combo of these three
3642s it'll allow you to cast a specific Saga
3645s ability which is kind of like your
3646s ultimate ability as a Bard oo okay all
3648s right so let me so put up a third
3651s tragedy so now I have three tragedies
3654s which has activated my
3657s Saga yeah so right now we just got one
3659s of these done so far but the three
3661s tragedy one is called the
3664s apocalypse and so this is kind of all
3666s these are kind of just you know very
3667s powerful ultimate abilities you can do
3670s that have a big effect to the
3671s battlefield okay so apocalypse conjures
3673s a scene at your location that depicts
3675s this fabled event enemies in front of
3677s you will be hit for 150% fire damage
3680s burning burning and Afflicted with
3683s shaken a lingering zone of flames will
3685s be left behind H dealing 30% fire damage
3688s each second and lasts for 8 seconds
3689s that's
3690s significant yeah so since this has such
3692s a long charge up time and cool down
3695s because of that uh you know we're giving
3696s it a pretty powerful effect as like you
3698s know a big Battlefield okay let me light
3701s this Forest on fire oh yeah make sure
3704s trad's going to be hurt kids don't do
3706s this at
3708s home and uh what is that what is that uh
3713s phrase that they use uh for forest fires
3715s I can't remember
3717s stop drop and roll only you can prevent
3719s for only you can
3724s prevent oh my
3728s God that looks so
3732s awesome oh that is so
3735s cool so it consumed my tragedies that's
3739s correct yeah so you'll have to spend the
3741s next uh you know minute or two to get
3744s them back up for your next Saga

3788s it's also pretty uh Mana intensive as
3790s well so just SP this on cool down you
3793s you go pretty
3795s quick um yeah so you already

3806s iteration that I think SAA is still
3807s working on where it actually burns down
3809s like a castle it's like a popup book
3812s yeah exactly that's kind of what we were
3813s going for it's like a story popup book
3815s where you know there's like a whole
3816s scene that kind of plays out but uh yeah
3818s still eer on that but I think it's off
3819s to a great start that's pretty cool all
3823s right is there anything else we should
3825s take a look at skill treewise before we
3827s get this party
3829s started um I think we're doing pretty
3831s good there's some other passive things
3833s with the songs but I think we covered I
3834s think we covered things mostly there's
3836s just some other yeah passive bonuses to
3837s different abilities oh yeah we can go
3839s into resonant weapon really quick that's
3841s kind of like the bards uh weapon combo
3844s Pro we want to do really quick yeah so
3847s this ability um it's passive you get
3849s pretty early on and it'll give your
3850s weapon combo um a different proc effect
3853s based on which of your current Melodies
3854s are active so uh with cheerful Melody
3857s active for example it'll give a little
3859s automatic heal to a nearby Ally uh on
3862s your weapon combo finishers well that's
3864s cool okay so so The Bard gets
3866s these passive kind of you know secondary
3869s benefits as they're using their weapon
3872s attacks yeah like we're doing with a lot
3874s of different classes too you know a lot
3875s of our classes have this kind of concept
3877s of weaving back and forth with weapon
3878s combo and your abilities and what making
3880s that you know rewarding back and forth
3882s game playay there this is kind of The
3883s Bard's version of that
3885s interaction all right let me
3889s um let me find this
3893s Melia oh yeah so the there's different
3896s procs with that one based on if you have
3898s I think menacing music or cathartic
3899s music have an offensive
3910s proc yeah so got wounded from that
3913s weapon combo finisher with
3914s cathartic the healing he
3918s received I love the uh spell
3922s book yeah it looks so cool
3927s Spellbook is also an AOE it's a ranged
3929s AOE weapon you guys want to talk about
3931s that a little bit Brian yeah I guess
3933s they talking about the spell book we're
3935s ready for that yeah absolutely yeah so
3939s this is actually the second iteration of
3941s the spell book or third if you count the
3943s APO book um we we de it started in the
3947s hand and you were flinging stuff out and
3949s you're holding it in the hand and it was
3950s a lot smaller than this but um we
3952s decided we want to go in a different
3954s direction with it being self animated
3956s and and much larger so is what we came
3959s up with um it's part of the slow weapon
3961s group alongside the great sword so it's
3963s focused on slow chunky attacks that deal
3966s a good amount of damage per hit um it's
3968s also like Bucky mentioned the first
3970s weapon with a splitting projectile um so
3974s it's it's going to be the first ranged
3975s weapon that has a little bit of AOE
3977s capability baked in but the first Target
3979s will get hit for a good amount of damage
3981s and then it'll split for minor damage to
3983s other nearby Targets if if there are any
3985s nearby
3988s U more notably than that though it's the
3991s first self animating weapon um so it's
3994s not attached like normal to a
3996s character's socket um well it is
3999s technically but
4000s that's not really for the normal
4003s purposes of of how you uh attach a
4005s weapon to a character and it's it's
4008s animating by itself instead of based
4010s directly off what the character is doing
4012s um that's a challenge that Matt was able
4014s to figure out and make look super
4016s awesome oh that this I mean this does
4019s look great I mean oh I love the the
4022s large kind of tome look to it right
4026s obviously as you said in the past we had
4027s that that one-handed kind of book look
4030s and and that's that's relatively
4032s standard right that's a safe route to go
4034s when it comes to animating a weapon
4035s that's a book essentially but this kind
4038s of heavier looking tone that's you know
4040s floating kind of in front of you I think
4042s that's super unique and it's a great
4044s look to it yeah I I definitely love that
4047s you pushed us to do a little bit more
4050s with it take it a little bit further cuz
4052s what we came up with is definitely
4053s something that's unique and and super
4055s awesome for sure we wanted the book to
4058s be the star of the weapon combo more
4060s than the player so you'll notice that
4063s all the very flashy animations and
4065s particle effects will be around the book
4066s itself and attached to the book itself
4069s instead of playing off of the uh
4071s character that's has the book there's
4073s still some supporting animations and
4075s visual effects on the Caster but it's
4077s very minor compared to what's playing on
4079s the
4087s book and some other stuff that we'll get
4090s into whenever the skill tree is in a
4092s more showable state is through the skill
4095s tree you'll have access to Elemental
4097s status effects Mana recovery effects
4100s passive stat effects and combo damage
4102s increasing
4103s effects and that's actually all active
4105s and how spec out now it's just the front
4107s end's a little bit messed up so we can't
4109s show
4110s it that's super
4113s cool that looks

4119s ready to delve into the story side of
4122s this perhaps and Bucky I would love for
4126s you since you are The Bard Master
4128s extraordinaire to swap seats with me I

4141s to hand over the reins of The Bard to

4147s moment and while we do that um perhaps

4153s types of NPCs we're going to see here
4155s and I I know we saw some Undead Doug
4157s talk to me a little bit about uh what's
4159s the story behind this stuff yeah so um
4162s we saw a skeleton and um we're going to
4164s see more skeletons here I this is the
4166s first time we're showing them off um and
4169s uh with skeleton being such a common you
4171s know fantasy Undead NC that we're going
4173s to see throughout the game we decided to
4175s make sure to give them sort of a variety
4177s of different uh Buffs and um sort of
4182s effects that they can spawn in with so
4184s some skeletons will have like an effect
4187s Spirit of the undying on them and if you
4189s see this indicated by sort of red
4192s blowing eyes and a buff icon you know
4193s that they're going to resurrect uh with
4196s some health uh when they die so have to
4198s kind of keep that in mind uh some of
4199s them will spawn with fields in their
4201s hands some of them without fields in
4203s their hands we're going to see a few
4204s that are here that are actually risen
4205s Farmers so they're actually going to
4207s have farm tools um and then we might see
4209s some some other variants later on some
4212s Reapers which are more powerful
4214s skeletons with the sies and wearing
4217s robes and they have a totally different
4219s set of abilities available to them
4221s so very cool that is going to be a lot
4224s of fun and and Bucky you were talking to
4226s me a little bit about kind of the story
4228s behind deral um obviously this is an
4232s ancient and old uh land so prior to the
4235s apocalypse talked me a little bit about
4237s what daral states was all about and and
4240s why we have these dead
4242s farmers yeah so you know I'm not on the
4245s lore team but this is the lore that's
4247s been uh granted to me the download but
4250s gist of the story is that the deral
4252s family used to live here um way back
4255s before you know uh they left for Vera or
4258s they left Vera um and they were kind of
4261s a rich family that you know had a big
4263s farm here and a bunch of houses but
4265s after the return to Vera
4269s um uh we came back humans kind of
4272s initially populated the area and started
4273s farming again but then more recently uh
4276s goblins have are now in the area and uh
4281s started doing necromancy and raising all
4282s the farm hands and it's causing a lot of
4285s uh evilness in
4287s general um I'm actually gonna go grab
4290s the quest really quick I think this guy
4292s right here Rondo has a quest for us
4295s Rondo okay
