Posting this here because our website is having issues:

Designer Alex Kende here again to talk about incoming large-scale changes to Hero Set gear that include adding attributes, status effects, name changes, and overall themes or focuses.

But let’s get the most obvious out of the way: Perks have received a huge naming pass to improve clarity even if the description of the Perk is the same. Many Perks on your current gear will get new names but will remain unchanged in application.

Next is the names of the sets themselves. Each of the three Hero Sets will have their title seen in the description panel of mission chains or on the War Table when viewing a mission’s details. This should help pin down where to get what if you’re looking for a specific piece of gear.

Let’s talk about the three Hero sets, their focus, and where you can get each of them.

Hey, everyone!

We know many of you have been eagerly awaiting our next formal roadmap for Marvel’s Avengers. We aren’t yet ready to reveal the next full roadmap, but we can share some news about our next update and how we’re improving and changing the game in the near- and medium-term.

In Marvel’s Avengers, core game systems must evolve with the player base and as we learn more about how players play. A number of the systems built at launch haven’t grown and aren’t sufficiently delivering the most fun Super Hero team experience. We addressed some of this in our last patch with the addition of Shipments, a reworking of the gear upgrading system, a streamlined resource economy, and other changes. More of this type of work (like a refresh of rewards for events like Red Room Takeover and Corrupted Vibranium) is ongoing and is a substantial part of our near-term development plan.

To give some specific examples, let’s take a sneak peek at Patch 2...

When we published the Holiday Content Patch on November 30, there was an issue that caused some players to lose Units and Resources upon logging in. We discovered the cause of this issue and fixed it in the patch on December 1 (a.k.a. Patch 2.2c). This fix made it so that players who had not logged in since the Holiday Content Patch released would not lose Units and Fragments, but did not address those that this issue had already impacted.

We were able to determine that only players who had over 65,535 Units or 65,535 Fragments prior to the Holiday Content Patch were affected, meaning if you had less, you didn’t lose any Units or Fragments. We now have a solution for those players and would like to share it with you here.

We have prepared a grant for those players that will happen upon log-in sometime on December 15 throughout the day - times may vary. We are calculating how many Units each of these players have earned in their entire lifetime of playing Marvel...

Patch Notes for 2.2c is being published today:

  • Players on non-PlayStation platforms no longer receive bugged comics that resulted in a crash
  • Players who have not logged in since the 2.2 release will not lose Units/Resources when they first log in. We are still looking into those who were impacted by this issue and will update you once we have more information.
  • The Marketplace now loads correctly for players who already purchased the Hawkeye or Civil War Starter Packs

Some other known issues from Patch 2.2:

Hi, I’m Alex Kende, a designer working on gear and resources, including their upcoming reworks on November 30. I’d like to take this moment to explain in detail what changes we will be implementing

Perks Rework

There are several changes to gear we will be introducing in patch 2.2 on November 30.

Several improvements to Hero gear have been made to make those rewards a bit more appealing when compared to normal gear. Whether this is fixing bugs with Perks, or rearranging Perks, we wanted to offer more options to players looking for more variety in builds.

Due to community feedback, we have also added Status effects to gear for Heroes who are currently missing them. All of them. Every single one.

That means Hulk will have Cryo Perks, Ms. Marvel will have Plasma Perks, and Iron Man will have Shock Perks for his weapons. These Perks will be added to either Specialty gear from Vendors, Omega gear (for Hulk), or Hivemind gear.

We have also...

We'll go into specifics in the coming weeks!

There is more to come with Earned Cosmetics, which we'll discuss in the coming weeks. Shipments is just one part of that.
