[2020] Froze during combat/will not load

There should be a few backups of your save file in your installation folder\Saved. They’re usually named game_backup_x.db, where x is a number ranging from 1 to up to 20. We’d recommend trying to rename game_backup_1.db to simply game.db. This would overwrite your current save game but it would also probably fix whatever corruption your current savefile could have. Each backup is saved every 5 minutes, so the loss of progress would be minimal.
