[2021] PlayStation Update 2.4 Official Discussion Megathread

Got some additional information from our Dev team.

The nudity fix did not make it into 2.4.4 but it will be added in our next update for PlayStation.

Hello! We’re splitting up discussion posts from patch notes updates for the update. You may find the original patch notes thread here:

2.4.6 is the next scheduled update for all platforms, which includes a number of bug fixes for each specific platform. Should be in the next week or two assuming we don’t run into any critical last-minute issues.

Assuming we don’t run into any last-minute issues (like cert, etc.) then the update is planned to launch on all platforms at around the same time.

The PSN version of 2.4.6 is still being worked on and will be coming at a slightly later date.

I can 100% guarantee the patch will release before the heat death of the universe

(Edit: But in all seriousness, the current ETA is early next week)

Hello everyone,

First of all we would like to thank you for being patient with us when it comes to the upcoming PS patch.

Like @AndyB previously mentioned, we were expecting the patch to come out this week but things happened and the patch has been delayed a bit.
Currently we are working on making sure the PS version will not be affected by the building stability issue that was introduced on the 2.4.6 patch on PC and Xbox platforms.

We hope to have the patch released as soon as possible.

Again, thank you for being so patient with us and we hope you can wait a bit longer for the patch.

Unfortunately, I don’t have further details available to me at this time either - I’m more trying to empathize with the frustration of having to wait around.

I understand you’re frustrated, but please note we’re still humans and ask that you not mix up “honesty” with attacking us or others for daring to show compassion. Doing so isn’t going to make this go any quicker, I’m afraid.

As soon as details are available, we’ll let you know here.

Edit: And hey, let’s not fight each other - goes both ways. I don’t mean to be short or defensive and I certainly didn’t mean to slight anyone by liking a couple memes I thought were funny (if nothing else, we’re self-aware), but I do know the wait is frustrating and we’ll try to keep you in the loop.

So, yes, we know you’ve been waiting for the 2.4.6 update on PSN, and unfortunately the patch will not arrive this week either.

We’ve worked to provide quick updates and bits of information over time, and while we don’t have an ETA at the moment, we wanted to elaborate on the situation to help you understand the delay.

First things first: The actual content of the update is ready to go, and has been for a while.

Our current challenge is that, due to the way the game handles data and how patching works on PlayStation, releasing the update as-is would cause you to download the entire game from scratch. This may not be a huge issue for those with good connections and unlimited bandwidth, but this is not something everyone has access to.

Working around this issue is a complicated process since it requires a lot of moving parts working together and as such, needs thorough work and testing.

We do apologize once again for the wait and we hope this offers a little extra context on what’s going into the current delay. We’re doing everything we can to get this out as quickly as possible.

We’ll provide more info and updates as they’re available! In the meantime, yeah, I guess feel free to share cat memes or whatever, we understand

Jokes aside, yes, the update is definitely coming and I know it’s probably frustrating to see little movement on that front. We can assure you we want the update out too!
