Thank you for reaching out. Please make sure you have your mods disabled before starting the game.
We are aware of this issue and the current workaround is to delete:
Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Mods\modlist.txt will guarantee mods are not loaded.
Please let us know if the issue persists after performing the suggested steps.

We are still investigating what might be causing this. In the meantime, please try to delete both the following files: modlist.txt and servermodlist.txt
After deleting them, try to verify files on Steam again.

Thank you for tagging us @TeleTesselator! We confirmed with several players that unsubscribing to mods and deleting both the modlist.txt and servermodlist.txt stop the infinite loop/crash.
Please make sure you are also using the correct and updated version of the mods before loading the game.

Thank you all for reaching out. Thanks to a very resilient and awesome team member we were finally able to reproduce this issue internally and we are now investigating a solution for it.
