We will still support and develop for Conan Exiles. We're lucky enough to have a studio in Oslo and a studio in Durham, NC, and there are teams from both studios working on Exiles.

There's a new map coming to Conan Exiles and, of course, more fixes and improvements.

How bout you just fix this game?

We're working on more fixes for critical bugs and issues and we're planning a new patch very soon, in fact :)

That's amazing. Really looking forward to it. Appreciate all the hard work that has been put into this game, and all that has yet to come.

Thank you very much! We appreciate it.

I know this post is a little old by now Jev, but.

Personally I would love a Q&A post on Reddit, which could be brought up on one of the next Dev Streams where one could answer peoples concerns.

But with the community being a bit riled up now, I'm not sure many, if any, decent questions would be asked. Something to consider perhaps.

Edit: Perhaps delay or scratch this idea until relevant, we'll see what the shareholders decide. Just want whats best for both FunCom and the Community.

If we feel it's pertinent to do so, then a Q&A thread/stream is a good idea. Thank you for the suggestion :)

There’s a difference between invested and owned. While I agree I don’t think you guys won’t be that extreme, I could easily see making your games pass the Chinese game board now. Which means a lot more restrictions on the type of content allowed. If you guys did what was “right” you would make different clients for both China and other countries. But, I figure you will do what is “cheap” and just make a single client to the largest restrictions, so China.

If you guys did what was “right” you would make different clients for both China and other countries.

We do that now, actually.

That looks great!

We're not quite ready to talk about it yet, but we can confirm we are working on a new map and we look forward to revealing more in the future.

I think the move is good when it comes to funding for their projects and helping out with getting more devs onto the team, tencent can probably help with this. I just hope funcom stay true to their current cash model and dosent end up going pay to win. Also with how promising and hyped the new Dune movie is, Funcom must understand the gem (dune ip) they're sitting on. Conan exiles with a new map in development is also looking to get a definitive spot in the top 3 survival games, so I just hopw funcom have thought this through.

We have and we believe this will be a positive move. This also helps us increase the scope of the Dune project

Not Fking good , they will censor the nudity !!

We technically already censor the nudity. The US console versions don't have full nudity, for instance.

We're currently working on improvements and QoL additions to the thrall AI and follower systems that will aim to cover for most of that derpness and hopefully some more.

It'll not make it into the next big patch but will hopefully headline the next one after that.

I dunno, funcom was about to abandon the game. They are moving on to their new survival game in the dune universe. If someone else picks up the game at least you will see new content.

There were no plans to abandon the game before, there are no plans about that now either.

Is a new map really in the works?

We're not quite ready to talk about it yet, but we can confirm we are working on a new map and we look forward to revealing more in the future. Exciting times ahead for Conan Exiles.

Why is a good thing if I may ask?

Increased operational leverage, even greater industry insight and resources, greater ambition level for coming games, to name a few.

Congrats on this, I think in it's entirety it's a good move for you guys.

Though I do have a small concern in reading that in increasing the scope of the upcoming game based on Dune - it will be taking initiative away from other games. Is this true?

With the small crew working behind Conan Exiles already, it feels like any progress and content is coming far too slow to be feasible or worthwhile. So stretching it even thinner, worries me even more.

We also have a studio over in the US, who'll be helping out with development resources on the Dune game and on Conan Exiles. So there's more than enough people to go around :)

So... Clicking in "learn more" or something like that, found the new map as DLC.... This will be the "new" way to release new content? What about those bugs that "are fixed internally and coming in following patches" are included in that dlc map? This is a big news and I (do not know about other people) really want info about this. Please if these news are good or bad do not make Conan Exiles the new Fallout 76 with that "game as a live service".

Conan Exiles bug fixes will always be free. We won't charge for bug fixes.

Yep, which means no criticism allowed if it's directed towards Winnie the Pooh and his mates in the Chinese government, they'll probably censor the game as well.

Tencent has also invested in Reddit. Your comment about the Chinese president seems to be OK.

"In addition to various projects, including the continued support of Conan Exiles, the Norwegian game developers are currently developing an open world multiplayer survival game based on Frank Herbert’s Dune." "In connection with Tencent’s voluntary offer, the Funcom management have decided to publicly announce several strategic and operational matters. Management intends to increase the ambition level of the upcoming Dune game pending board approval, with resources being allocated from other initiatives"

So they are creating a game to compete with conan exiles? On top of that they are going to decrease resources for the game. Then wtf did I spend all this money for?

The Dune game was announced a while ago, and it's still a ways away. We'll continue to support Conan Exiles :)
