i've been seeing just about every celeb under the sun buying into this blatant LuLaRoe-tier scam and i am just so tired. everything is already so bad. why are we trying so hard to come up with new ways to damage our culture and our climate. i just wanted to play video games
any thread i see about how absurd the concept is (ie. "even if your unique item is NFT-backed its value is still entirely dependent on whether the game itself cares to honor its existence") is met with dismissive QRTs either happily (knowingly?) ignoring the point or going "NGMI"
there is no aspect of "NFTs in video games" that is even remotely a good idea and it is simply unreal to see these big companies pushing it into the mainstream. the only audience this caters to is "greedy wannabe wall street bros". really? that's the playerbase you're aiming for?
@Wunkolo @OnDeck Nice...
@OnDeck: Cookie Clicker is on Deck. #SteamDeck
i'm trying to put this as delicately as possible but the Age of Empires 4 live-action cutscenes are the tackiest thing i have ever seen in a video game. i am so sorry it's like watching Kitchen Nightmares i just don't think i can play through this. i'm sorry
remember when we were all on forums and moderators could just edit people's posts? we really lived like that
true cyberpunk isn't nasty carbon-guzzling pixel avatars it's web users resorting to leetspeak like "s3ll" and "c0mm15510n" in 2021 to get around bots and suppressive social media algorithms
what's your favorite fact that ends in "...that we know of"
nice
Steam has banned all games that utilise blockchain tech, NFTs, or cryptocurrencies from the platform: https://t.co/eUl709uWzF https://t.co/Lpp11rdJqJ
anyway Pam's Harvestcraft should be baseline as far as i'm concerned. end of statement
my statement was not an absolute judgment and every player is different and gets different things out of different games. i'm just personally inclined to view most Minecraft updates as kind of... badly underwhelming, esp considering all the budget and dev time put into it
my favorite memories of Minecraft are modded - exploring new biomes, building factories, discovering magic systems etc. on its own it just doesn't feel like much to chew on. meanwhile i've only just recently gotten into Terraria mods and it's like cherries on top of a full cake
Terraria has had an incredibly healthy update cycle, at times more than doubling the amount of content. nearly every major patch justifies starting a new world. with Minecraft i'll log in for 5 mins, go "oh neat. sea cucumbers huh", maybe cook some seaweed and that's about it
my personal experience is that i can have fun doing a full unmodded Terraria playthrough every time i dive back into it, whereas i simply cannot stand vanilla Minecraft for more than a few hours
regarding my recent "Minecraft is starved for content" comment: this is of course subjective but allow me to expand on what i meant. a little bit cliche but i'm going to use Terraria for comparison here - only distantly related but both games i immensely respect and love
@BullCityFats oh that's weird as hell, i'll look into it but the "only started happening in the last day or two" is alarming considering i haven't pushed any live updates in a few weeks. maybe some edge case resulting from some weird windows update interaction? added to my to-fix list
@Velidae_ stay tuned to see if i'll do good on my promise to release something dungeon-related before the end of the year. like this goes for me too. i have no idea if i'll make it. my brain might let me or it might not. it's a surprise for everyone
@Mossworm1 i'm honestly glad they can count on you. thank you for speaking for the bugs
@Mossworm1 can we not let the lads n gals pick up babes in peace
