Looking at the entries at the end of that dxdiag I'm pretty sure you have a Windows problem; whether that is causing your issue with the game too is not clear though.

Ім’я події: LiveKernelEvent

The LiveKernelEvent entries mean the computer or Windows has been forcibly downed; have you seen that, is it related to this game or somethign else?

You might try running this Windows Repair tool:

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files - Microsoft Support

Do you still get issues that make you forcibly down Windows, ie that cause those LiveKernelEvent entries? They are not good for your Windows installation, they should be looked into.

But if running this game does not trigger them, that is probably a separate issue.

What happens if you run ck3.exe directly from file explorer? Same problem?

Normally, before turning off your computer you down it gently by choosing power-shut down, from the lower-left corner. If however you lose power, or just turn the machine off, or the machine or Windows hangs, Windows records that LiveKernelEvent .

You may have a Steam issue , from your description there. We could do a clean reinstall of Steam AND game, that might help that:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- exit the Steam app completely
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3 folders
- delete everything in the Steam folder EXCEPT steam.exe and the SteamApps folder
- run steam.exe to rebuild all that
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

Good luck!

_juggernaut said: I had the 'Corrupt disk' notification in the Steam download window while the launcher was reinstalling some mods. Right now in the launcher i have EPE mod dowloading at 100% progress and not proceeding to install the rest of mods.
Are you still getting these issues?

Make a new WIndows user on this machine and log into it with that. In the startup settings disable everything you can and reboot. Do you still get these problems then?

ColdAshen said: I've been following this thread and many others as I have the same problem, and have tried everything mentioned to rectify the crash, I have gone as far as reinstalling a fresh clean windows 10 installation, and it is still crashing on "Initializing game".
No other game in my library has any issues at all.
Please make your own new thread in future, as similar symptoms do not necessarily come from the same cause. Thanks.

Right click on ck3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate at 60.

If those don't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

_juggernaut said: later I discovered that for some reason Steam didn't install a Paradox launcher)
The reason is that launcher is installed when you first run the game. Nothing to do wth Steam.

_juggernaut said: Also to that, i'm planning to visit my granny next week, she has a computer there. I will test if the issue is present on that device as well. Also, the game instantly crashes when I try to set Texture quality to Ultra
Please let us know how that goes, thanks.
